2017 Hottest 100 teaser stats
Love Hottest 100 stats? Great, because after revealing that we received a record breaking 2.3 million votes this year, we’ve got some juicy secrets to share, like the fact that…
65 Australian songs appear in this year’s Hottest 100 (one less than last year’s record breaking year for Aussie songs)
10 different countries are represented, including feature artists (13 last year)
26 artists appear for the very first time (23 last year)
5 songs were uploaded to triple j Unearthed in 2017
8 artists appear for a third time in an annual Hottest 100 countdown
Are you doing the math and have an inkling as to which songs might have made it into the countdown? Well, you’re gonna have to tune into the Hottest 100 to be sure!
The Hottest 100 Weekend kicks off live around the country this Saturday 27 January, when you’ll find out where your favourite songs of 2017 came in the Hottest 100:
12pm – NSW, ACT, VIC + TAS
11:30am – SA
11am – QLD
10.30am – NT
9:00am – WA
Then, back it up with the songs that just missed out, the Hottest 200 – 101, from 10am your local time on Sunday 28 January. Plus from Midday Sunday 28 January, Double J will be replaying the 1997 countdown in full!
And don’t forget, by rocking this awesome collectable Hottest 100 x AIME t-shirt, or by simply donating to AIME, you can help AIME expand its mentoring program to almost 15,000 Indigenous kids by 2020, helping them through high school and into university at the same rates as non-Indigenous students. Last year you helped us raised $250,000 – let’s see if we can beat that!
You can find triple j’s Hottest 100 on your FM radio, digital radio, the triple j website, triple j app and ABC listen app. You can also follow us on social media via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and on Snapchat at triplejsnaps. Plus you can listen to the triple j’s Hottest 100 playlists on Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube.

triple j – we love music
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
