A Weekend In The Gardens Lights Up The Botanic Gardens!

BRILLIANT MUSIC, SPECTACULAR SETTING,
NATIVE COCKTAILS AND POSSUMS!

The inaugural A WEEKEND In The Gardens thrilled Melbourne music lovers over the Long weekend as the Gardens came alive with music.

More than 11,500 fans across the three days enjoyed fantastic music from John Farnham, Daryl Braithwaite, Ross Wilson and DJ Rich Spanning Time (Friday), Boy & Bear, San Cisco, Amy Shark and DJ Buster Stickup (Saturday) and Icehouse, James Reyne, Clare Bowditch and DJLP (Sunday).

Fab food was provided in “The Eatery” by Ladro pizzas, Burn City Smokers, The Royale Brothers burgers, Mr Chow (Vietnamese) & Happy Endings by Mr Chow (Vietnamese Ice-cream).  The Native Cocktails and Pimms jugs were a big hit, as was the Pommery Champagne & Oyster Bar.

A big part of the event was about working with, and enhancing, the beautiful environment that is the Melbourne Gardens, and it was impossible not to appreciate it. The Gardens really came alive as night fell, with lighting through the trees creating a gorgeous surround to the stage and the site in general, while the Moomba fireworks which dazzled the evening sky at 9.30pm each night only added to festive atmosphere.  Even the possums came out to take it all in!

Promoter Michael Newton, from Roundhouse Entertainment, said: “It has been an absolutely fantastic three days. The site was truly spectacular and we couldn’t be happier with the result.  Everyone really enjoyed being in the Gardens, including the performers. Being outdoors on a warm night is such a great way to play and enjoy music.  Thanks to everyone who came out to make this first event so successful. We’re already looking forward to the next one!”
