November is Ausmusic Month, our month-long celebration of Australian music, and this year triple j, Double J and triple j Unearthed are going allll out!

To kick off the month, we’re asking you to get out your fave Aussie artist t-shirt coz on Fri 3 Nov it’s Ausmusic Tshirt Day. Just pop on your tee, take a photo and tag it with #AusmusicTshirtDay to be part of a massive Australia-wide celebration of Aussie music. Throughout the day, the we’ll be encouraging listeners to donate to Support Act, a charity assisting people working in the music industry who are in crisis.

Later in the month, triple j Unearthed have teamed up with The Push and Parliament of Victoria to present Live At The Steps, a massive free, all ages concert held on Parliament Steps from 5 – 9pm Fri 17 Nov as part of Melbourne Music Week. The drug and alcohol free event will see live sets from exciting Aussie artists Skegss, Tired Lion, Mallrat and Baker Boy, as well as some very special guests and surprises on the night. We’ll be recording the concert for Live At The Wireless on triple j, so if you can’t make it, you’ll be able to listen back to all the big moments over the following weeks.

Throughout Ausmusic Month you’ll also hear heaps of special Aussie content across triple j, such as our annual all-Aussie Like A Version covers from 7.30am Fridays, as well as Live at the Wireless sets from none other than 8 x ARIA nominated Gang of Youths, Amy Shark, Polish Club and Boo Seeka, 8pm Mondays.

On Double J, Bernard Fanning tells us how growing up in Brisbane shaped his song writing in Songs of Your Streets, and performs acoustic versions of some of his best loved songs, which you can listen to on Double J and stream on iview from 6pm Mon 13 Nov.

We’re also excited to welcome seminal 90s band Custard to the Double J team as Artists in Residence for Ausmusic Month, 3pm Sundays.
