BARE BONES
sign to RESIST RECORDS
announce NEW LP
& premiere NEW SINGLE
Continuing their run of stellar releases in 2017, Resist Records are proud to announce they’ve inked a deal with Sydney’s BARE BONES, and will release their debut album ‘Bad Habits’ on May 19.
All swagger and recklessness, Bare Bones bring an intensity to Australian punk/rock that belies the fact that they’ve only got two EP’s under their belt. A suspenseful maelstrom of off-kilter guitars a-la Every Time I Die, this is sweaty and visceral feisty rock music that bears shades of The Bronx at their most relentless. Propelled by a razor-sharp vocal performance from Tom Kennedy, first single ‘Thick As Thieves’ is going to take your breath away, searing solo and all…
Bad Habits is a natural progression from Bare Bones’ two EP releases ‘Villians’ and ‘Cut Throat Living’. There’s more melodic dynamics in these songs, but they’re balanced by tones and riffs more crushing than ever. The result is inspiring. Recorded in Sydney with Chris Blancato and produced by Jono Peters, ‘Bad Habits’ is a descent into the barbarous journey into those irresistible behaviours we use to drag ourselves down kicking and screaming, our loves ones clinging helplessly to our coattails. Heck, it’s right there in the debaucherous party-hard themes of ‘Thick As Thieves’.
The band are understandably stoked about signing to now-iconic heavy label Resist for this release, saying; “Each one of us cut our teeth in a scene that was pioneered by punk and hardcore bands under the Resist banner, so in that regard Resist has been held in such high esteem by all of us for more than a decade. Being asked to be part of the Resist family was extremely humbling, and feels like the perfect label for what Bare Bones is about.”
Bare Bones have more than held their own on-stage supporting high-profile heavy acts from Every Time I Die to Northlane, Norma Jean to Cancer Bats, and opened the main stage at Sydney’s 2015 Soundwave installment. A fearsome set at UNIFY 2017 grabbed attention from wasted punters and admiring industry folks alike. The crowds go nuts for ’em, because you never know exactly what kind of wild shit you’re going to get. There’s something damn sexy about it.
triple j’s Dom Alessio branded Bare Bones “dangerously rocking”. Catch them charging up ‘Best of 2017’ lists with ‘Bad Habits’.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
