Australia’s hardest hitting Hammond Organ trio Cookin’ On 3 Burners release new single “Real Life Baby feat. Emmi” and announce LAB EXPERIMENTS VOL. 1: MIXIN’, their first installment in an exciting new series of releases.
The cracking lead single was penned with UK based vocalist and songwriter Emmi. Available as a limited edition 7-inch single for Record Store Day 2017 “Real Life Baby feat. Emmi” tempts you with sweet summer soul at its finest. For the B side, strap yourself in for the Cookin’ on 3 Burners breakbeat flip of the Metallica classic “Enter Sandman” – this instrumental funky dance floor banger is set to be a future classic for break dancers on the NYC subway as much as it is for you at home!
If you are meeting them for the first time, Cookin’ On 3 Burners are captured here in full flight. With the right blend of soul and dirty dance floor funk that comes on strong, until you get up off of that thing and move. After stumbling upon a disused time machine, Cookin’ On 3 Burners are propelled back to the year 1971, whereupon breaking into in a local high school science lab, they cautiously combine the elements to bring you the first drop from their forthcoming release LAB EXPERIMENTS VOL. 1: MIXIN’. In true Burners fashion, it’s all live and full of vibe; Ivan “Choi” Khatchoyan’s drums are super tight, Jake Mason’s Hammond Organ swells and screams and Dan West’s guitar twangs like a boss.
Since its inception in 1997 Cookin’ On 3 Burners have continuously evolved and branched out, bringing their strong trio sound to collaborations with a variety of artists. The 2016 meeting with French electronic wunderkind Kungs resulted in the Kungs vs Cookin’ On 3 Burners version of their classic soul track “This Girl” which saw substantial chart success world-wide, reaching #1 in Europe, and being the world’s most Shazamed dance track of 2016.
