“Edwina Margaret ‘Fanny’ Lumsden differentiates herself from Australian country peers with her clear-eyed, unvarnished articulation of life in the bush as it is, rather than as it was… A breath of fresh country air” – Rolling Stone
“If there’s a twang in her airy voice and abundant pedal steel and country licks, there’s also a folky warmth and lightfootedness that’s more reminiscent of Josh Pyke than Keith Urban” – Sydney Morning Herald
“Fanny Lumsden’s name will only continue to get bigger across rural and metropolitan Australia alike – and that is very much deserved.” – AU Review
.
Five years on from the release of her debut EP, Fanny Lumsden is hitting new highs with her second album, ‘Real Class Act’ debuting #1 on the ARIA Country Album chart and #23 on the ARIA All-Genre chart. Fanny’s debut album ‘Small Town Big Shot’ debuted at #6 on the ARIA Country chart upon release in September 2015. The new album ‘Real Class Act’ is one of only eight Australian artist albums to hit the top of the Country charts in 2017 and the only independent release to reach #1.
The chart debut is another highlight in an already stellar year for the Tumbarumba based singer-songwriter who received both the Golden Guitar Award and CMC Award for Best New Talent along with the 2017 APRA Professional Development Award (Country) and was nominated for an ARIA Award for Country Album of the Year in 2016.
With her band The Thrillseekers in tow, Fanny kicked off the 6th Annual Country Halls Tour with a number of sold out shows in regional and remote towns across Australia, bringing the warm glow of live music to these isolated communities. The tour continues through to March 2018.
.
“Seeing those halls in the middle of paddocks, 100kms from any town, filled with life and music really is something special. I feel like we have been let into a joyful secret community club every night to put on a shindig and have a good time,” said Fanny.
.
Honing her gift for vibrant songwriting, Fanny took inspiration from the road when writing the crowd funded sophmore album, ‘Real Class Act’, which was the first release on the newly formed Red Dirt Road Records. Produced by the multi award winner Matt Fell at Love HZ studios in Sydney, who also produced their debut record, ‘Real Class Act’ is comprised Fanny’s own songs and features some of Australia’s finest musicians.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
