FILTHY APES
‘Monachopsis’
Single Launch 22nd April 2017
After releasing two well-received EP’s and a Double Single, and garnering national radio airplay on Triple J and other stations, the Filthy Apes are back with another Double Single release. Showcasing their desire not to be pigeon-holed, they’ve delivered once again with ‘Monachopsis’ and ‘Waiting Line’, diverse new sounds recorded at Perth’s legendary Blackbird Studio. The Filthy Apes have continued their longstanding collaboration with Producer Mitch McDonald (The Love Junkies) to produce these tracks, which reflect the evolution of the band.
‘Monachopsis’ is the feeling of being out of place, with a soft start and a catchy melody, the track then launches into a chorus of fuzzy guitars and pounding drums. ‘Waiting Line’ is a change up for the band. Described by the band as ‘wannabe jazz’, this track swaps the fuzz for tremolo, sneaking in a hint of vibraphone and topping it off with a George Harrison inspired bridge. The singles each offer a different, but sincere and personal look into the lives of the band members.
Filthy Apes will be launching their Double Single in style at Jack Rabbit Slims on Saturday 22nd April with Perth legends Pat Chow and Ursula. This will be the Apes’ last show before taking time off to focus on their debut album.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
