The Hills Are Alive Group & Unified Music Group Announce…
THAA RECORDS

With an uncanny knack for spotting the next big thing and fourteen consecutive sold out festivals in their wake (eighteen if you count UNIFY in which they are a joint-partner), The Hills Are Alive Group is excited to announce the launch of their much-anticipated record label THAA Records.

A joint-venture with Unified Music Group and lead by The Hill Are Alive’s Co-Founder and Co-Director Aidan McLaren, THAA Records’ vision is to be one of Australia’s most respected and sought-after record labels with a solid reputation for identifying, signing and developing incredible emerging Australian artists and taking their music to the world.

“When we started The Hills Are Alive festival 10 years ago it was all about building a platform for artists we loved to get exposure by playing to a super receptive audience. Over the years, so many of the acts we’ve put on the festivals have gone on to have amazing careers and release incredible songs and albums, and we’re really proud that we were involved so early in sharing their music with music lovers.”

“To now be launching THAA records as a joint venture with some of our closest friends at Unified Music Group is a dream come true and in a lot of ways an extension of what we’ve been doing with the festivals for years. Sharing great music, regardless of genre, and working with good people who we really respect.” said McLaren.

Luke Logemann of UNIFIED Music Group adds “One of the biggest goals of the UNIFIED Label Group is to identify talented people who have great ears and a strong work ethic, and to set those people up to be able to use our infrastructure to release recorded music. Aidan McLaren, Joe Miles and The Hills Are Alive team fit that mould perfectly. For years their dedication to their craft has been matched by their enthusiasm and passion for breaking artists and discovering music. We are thrilled to be able to help facilitate their growth into the recorded music business.”

Today also sees THAA Records reveal its first two exciting signings: Electronic producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist LANKS and the hauntingly enigmatic singer/songwriter BATTS. ’62 Moons’, BATTS’ debut EP is set to be released on 29 November, with LANKS also dropping a new single soon. 2018 will see both artists releasing their debut records.

“In our opinion LANKS and BATTS are two of the most exciting up-and-coming acts in Australian Music. They’re music is amazing, their live shows are captivating and they’re really good people. We couldn’t be happier than to have them as the first two signings to THAA Records.” said McLaren.

Currently the programmer for the much loved The Hills Are Alive and NYE on the Hill festivals and Manager of celebrated hip hop artist REMI and singer/songwriters Timberwolf and Mike Waters, Aidan McLaren will head up A&R for THAA Records with assistance from Joe Miles.

“Like our festivals, THAA Records is essentially the coming together of a community of music lovers with a passion for sharing incredible music.” said McLaren.

Stay tuned for the lineup announce of the 10th Anniversary edition of The Hills Are Alive, dropping early December!

To celebrate, all those that sign up to the THAA Records Mailing List by the end of November will go in the running for a free double pass to The Hills Are Alive Festival in March.
