JIMMY BARNES

Jimmy Barnes is the heart and soul of Aussie Rock and Roll. After 40 years on stages of all kinds, Jimmy is an icon – his nickname “Barnesy” conjures up thoughts of rock music at an ear-‐splitting volume, and of soul standards given a unique reading. Jimmy has been through it all and lived to tell the tale detailing it all in his best selling memoirs, Working Class Boy and Working Class Man, adding bestselling author to his resume and cementing his place in Australia’s heart and heartland. Along the way, he has sold more records in Australia than any other domestic rock and roll artist. Jimmy’s live shows are legendary for their intensity.

With sixteen solo studio albums under his belt, not to mention fifteen Top 40 albums with the legendary Cold Chisel, more #1 albums (eleven) than any other Australian artist, being Inducted in ARIA Hall of Fame with Cold Chisel in 1992 and as a solo artist in 2005, no musician anywhere in the world has had a run of chart success as strong or as enduring as Jimmy Barnes has had in Australia.

The hits, as they say, kept on coming for Jimmy with Working Class Man, Too Much Ain’t Enough Love, Flame Trees, Simply the Best with Tina Turner, When Something is Wrong With My Babywith John Farnham, When Your Love Is Gone, Lay Down Your Guns, (all #1 debuts) and of course SOUL DEEP – an album of R&B classics that sold almost a million copies.

DARYL BRAITHWAITE

Another legendary icon of the Australian music industry, and upcoming 2017 ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee, Daryl Braithwaite will be hitting up the Wollongong stage.Daryl’s extraordinary career spans over 45 years and is one of Australia’s most successful pop singers. With an impressive discography including two multi-‐platinum albums, EDGE (1988) and RISE (1990), he has paved the way, making history as an indisputable Australian legend both as a solo act and with the band Sherbet.

When EDGE was released in November 1988 by Sony Music Australia, it made a beeline for the top of the ARIA Album Charts where it stayed for three weeks through early 1989. Almost two years to the day after RISE appeared, it went on to become the highest selling album in 1991, selling over 300,000 copies and garnering accolades. The title track Rise and Higher Than Hope were highlights, but it was his interpretation of Rickie Lee Jones’ The Horses that has gone on to become his signature song and one of Australia’s most loved anthems. These timeless gems added to Daryl’s cannon of uplifting classics including One Summer and As The Days Go By, as well as the countless tracks from his time as frontman ofSherbet including Summer Love, Howzat and Cassandra, just to name a few.

Now 68 years young, Daryl says he feels he’s had a blessed life and career and this latest chapter might just be the greatest blessing of all. Showing no signs of slowing down, Daft Punk recently sampled The Sherbs’ We Ride Tonight. November will see the release of The Definitive Greatest Hits Collection DAYS GO BY.

IAN MOSS

Respected as one of Australia’s iconic musicians, Ian Moss delivers an unforgettable sound – not only as a telling soloist on guitar but especially with his silken voice, ringing with clarity and resonating with pure soul.
.
Born and raised in Alice Springs, Moss started playing guitar in local teenage bands, but moved to Adelaide after failing one of his high school years, planning to repeat in the big city. Fate intervened when he answered an advertisement for a guitarist in a shop window in 1973, joining the band that was to become a legend in Australia-‐ Cold Chisel.
.
Moss’ distinctive vocal is the essential signature of his soulful, bluesy muse-‐ as it has been since his first tentative foray into music during the early 1970s. He has released five incredible and dynamic studio albums-‐ the #1 and multi platinum MATCHBOOK, WORLDS AWAY, PETROL HEAD, LET’S ALL GET TOGETHER and SOUL ON WEST 53RD.
.

DIESEL

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, the youngest of seven from a sax playing, electronics technician father and a mother in nursing, Mark Lizotte aka Diesel grew up in Australia and in the U.S. He formed the bandJohnny Diesel & The Injectors in 1986 from remnants of a previous band before embarking on a solo career in 1991.
.
Having learnt to play strings at age 8 and with blues music in his DNA, an influence largely from his father’s record collection, Diesel has blended styles to come up with a truly unique sound, punctuated with his distinct guitar and vocals.
.
In 2017, Diesel will celebrate 30 years “off the bus” landing in Sydney in 1987, after a 3 day bus journey across Australia, launching into 9 shows per week-‐ the rest is history. The relocation saw a studio meeting with future brother-‐in-‐law Jimmy Barnes, resulting in a guitar slot and support slot on the “Freight Train Heart” tour. Johnny Diesel & The Injectors toured constantly, playing in excess of 250 shows. The band’s debut andself titled album was recorded in Memphis, TN and released in 1989, winning two ARIA Awards. The album became the highest selling debut album by an Australian artist of all time to date, producing singles such as Don’t Need Love, Soul Revival, Lookin’ for Love, Since I Fell For You, and Cry In Shame.
.
After touring the world twice, Diesel embarked on a solo career and began to work on a second album. HEPFIDELITY was released in 1992, and after debuting at #1 was followed by THE LOBBYIST in 1993, SOLID SNOW in 1995. Other albums released by the solo artist include SOLID STATE RHYME and SHORT COOL ONES, which both received gold status. With over thirty five singles, sixteen albums, six ARIA Awards and record sales edging 1 million, Diesel is a journeyman of music.
.

MENTAL AS ANYTHING

A popular urban myth conjures a group of art students who passed themselves off as a band in order to con the local publican into giving them a gig in exchange for free beer. The deception worked better than intended, and the group came to be known as Mental As Anything. A self-‐explanatory single to reflect their success, The Nips Are Getting Bigger, rose through the charts rooting their music and their satirical, good-‐time image deeply in the milieu of Australian suburbia.

It was in 2009 when Mental As Anything were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

40 years of recording and touring and the show goes on. A fresh 5 track EP release titled MENTAL AS ANYTHING -‐ 5 TRACK EP sees the iconic band in high demand, performing to fans old and new, nationally andinternationally with their unmistakable unique sound.
