CLOSER TO DARKNESS, available now on Likeminded, is an EP that features 5 x Bass music remixes of Undertow’s sophomore album Light In The Distance, which came out on Likeminded last year. Enlisting a diverse cross-selection of cutting-edge Australian talent to re-interpret select tracks from Undertow’s most recent album release, it’s a tight package that packs a heavy punch. Featuring remixes by Xsetra, Jilted Hoodz, Bionic, Slice and SK & Wish. CLOSER TO DARKNESS artists and guests will be on tour to promote the release, performing in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney in the lead up to 2018.
Undertow (aka D-Tech MC) is no stranger to the stage. From his early years in the dance scene hosting large-scale raves alongside Hixxy, Dougal and Brisk to regular residencies at various Drum & Bass events, as D-Tech MC he’s toured the coun- try numerous times with live band Kobra Kai and a long list of international artists. Since releasing his debut Undertow LP ‘MINDS BELIEVING’ in 2010 and ‘LIGHT IN THE DISTANCE’ in 2016, he’s gone on to release two more albums with live DNB outfit Kobra Kai, including appearances at large-scale festivals such as Stereosonic, Creamfields, Future Music Festival and the Big Day Out. Whether over Drum & Bass or heavy Hip Hop beats, the art of connecting metaphors and syllables over crafted instrumentals is, and always will be, Undertow’s passion. His third album ‘STAIRCASES’ (a joint release with Sydney producer/MC OT) is due to drop soon – watch this space.

Likeminded is music for likeminded people! Our mission is to give a voice to those that need to be heard. With roots planted deeply in Hip Hop and Bass music, Likeminded aims to explore different genres and collaborate with artists whose art comes from the heart and soul. The label’s launch saw the release of Undertow’s second album ‘LIGH IN THE DISTANCE’ (a journey through this modern day poet’s life since the release of his debut, ‘MINDS BELIEVING’, in 2010) and shortly followed by the release of Scotty B’s album ‘THE DIGITAL ASSASSIN’ on both digital and vinyl formats.
