Nashville-based artist JMR
releases “BOUND”
lead single from forthcoming EP
BOYISH EP DUE OUT MAY 26
Today, Nashville-based artist JMR (real name Joshua Michael Robinson) has released a brand new single titled “Bound.”
A smooth, elegantly soulful ride showcasing JMR’s stunning bellowing vocal and slick minimal electronic production chops, “Bound” is the first single to see a release from his upcoming sophomore EP, Boyish, due out May 26.
The Boyish EP is fully self-produced and will be released independently, a choice of which “Bound” particularly touches on thematically. Of the track, JMR describes, “I was in a place in my music career where I had been let down by the people I was working with. Was forced to regroup and see what I really wanted to do with my voice so I built my own choir — literally and figuratively in this song.”
A native of central Florida and the seventh of eight children, JMR began tinkering with his parents’ upright piano at a young age and discovered a natural eclectic love for music, especially drawn to the emotive lyrical and instrumental work of singer-songwriters, gospel, and soul.
“Jeff Buckley’s ‘Grace’ was probably the first album I was allowed to listen to,” JMR explains. “I related to it so much as a teen, and I came onto it when I accidentally picked it up at a local Spec’s that’s now a PetCo.”
JMR released a debut EP Ritual in 2015 and has since has collaborated with various artists including a feature on Jai Wolf‘s 2016 EP on track “Gravity (ft. JMR).”
The upcoming Boyish EP will feature collaborations with Salaam Remi (Amy Winehouse, Miguel, Estelle) and Robert Glasper (winner of the 2012 Grammy Award for ‘Best R&B Album’).

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
