MORE ABOUT RAISED BY EAGLES
Melbourne’s Raised By Eagles comprises Luke Sinclair (guitar/harmonica/vocals), Nick O’Mara (guitar/lap steel/mandolin/vocals), Luke Richardson (bass/backing vocals) and Johnny Gibson (drums, percussion, backing vocals).
The band’s self-titled debut, released in 2013 quickly alerted people in the know to sit up and take notice, while their second release, 2015’s Diamond In The Bloodstream confirmed beyond doubt the fact that RBE were indeed a very special band. Beautifully crafted and evocative lyrics, a strong sense of identity in the story-telling, combined with first-class players and a deft and knowing touch had critics unanimously singing the band’s praises.
Taking out ‘Best Country Album’ and ‘Best Emerging Artist’ at the Age Music Victoria Awards (2015) RBE went on to be the showcase artist at the Americana Music Festival in Nashville the same year. 2016 saw them playing almost every available festival including Queenscliff, Port Fairy, Dashville and many more. 2017 promises to further broaden Raised By Eagles’ horizons.
WHAT THE CRITICS SAID
“Raised By Eagles have delivered two of the finest alt-country albums you’ll find in many, many miles.” – Martin Boulton, THE AGE
“Raised By Eagles are the next generation to carry on an Australian country-rock tradition that passes down from Country Radio, The Dingoes and The Black Sorrows.” – Noel Mengel, THE COURIER MAIL
“The concept of the tricky second album is alien to Melbourne quartet Raised By Eagles. Received well, their eponymous debut heralded the arrival of something special, but their second cut transcends this and then some. A collection of tracks rooted in the alt-country vein but not afraid to stray beyond, Diamonds In The Bloodstream is a songwriter’s album, lyrically robust, telling gritty tales of life raw and real.” – Sam Fell, THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD
“There’s a uniquely Australian stillness at work here…Diamonds In The Bloodstream is undeniably sweet.” – Gareth Hipwell, ROLLING STONE
“Diamonds in the Bloodstream is quietly brilliant – not the ‘look at me’ flash which is present elsewhere. It is the essence of fine storytelling and sublime playing at its heartfelt finest. Totally recommended.” – Rob Dickens, NO DEPRESSION
AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
