NORTHLANE and FATBOY SLIM

In an unlikely collaboration, Northlane have remade Fatboy Slim’s 2013 smash-hit ‘Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat’ for the upcoming EP ‘Fatboy Slim VS Australia’.
Paying homage to the classic dance track, the Sydney heavy rock outfit have kept the structure of the tune in tact whilst beefing up the rock element, bouncing from electro to heavy and hardcore in the chorus, in direct contrast with the lyrics.
Northlane admit “Reinterpreting this song and adding a little bit of the Northlane sound into it was a challenge for us and we hope that we’ve done it justice. We believe that the metal and electronic genres share many similarities and we’re thrilled we got the opportunity to contribute to this release!”
.
.
While hard rock and electronica aren’t an obvious mix, Northlane say “Fatboy Slim is an iconic name in electronic music and for many of us, our first introduction to techno. This in turn has lead us down a rabbit hole of new genres and inspired us to take risks with our music.”
After winning the 2017 ARIA for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal for their surprise 4th album ‘Mesmer’, this is the first release from the band for 2018.
The track sits alongside already released ‘Praise You’, from one of Australia’s finest producers The Kite String Tangle, as well as a bunch of other talents including Set Mo, Sam La Moore, The Aston Shuffle, Carmada and LO’99 on ‘Fatboy Slim VS Australia’. The seven tracker will be released on January 19th and is a prelude to the revered dance icon’s headline dates with Electric Gardens.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
