Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: Ed Sheeran ‘Shape Of You’ – It’s week five in the #1 and #2 spots, respectively, for Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ and ‘Castle On The Hill’. Another week for Sheeran at the top comes after he made a brief promotional visit to Australia during the week.

#7: Julia Michaels ‘Issues’ – In its third week in the chart, ‘Issues’ moves up seven spots to hit the top ten for the first time.

#12: Snakehips & MØ ‘Don’t Leave’ – A jump of 16 spots for ‘Don’t Leave’ in its fourth week in the top 50.

#33: Imagine Dragons ‘Believer’ (debut) – Imagine Dragons score their first solo appearance on the ARIA Singles Chart since 2014 with ‘Believer’. The track is the first single from the band’s forthcoming third album. In between charting with ‘I Bet My Life’ (#36 Nov. ’14) and now, the band joined with Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Logic, Ty Dolla Sign and X Ambassadors for ‘Sucker For Pain’ (#7 Sept. ’16)

#35: Sia ‘Never Give Up’ (debut) – The second track from Sia to debut in the top 50 this year. ‘Never Give Up’ comes from the soundtrack to Oscar-nominated Australian film Lion. The singer-songwriter charted in January with ‘Move Your Body’ (#34 Jan. ’17)

 Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Dune Rats ‘The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit’ (debut) – With their second studio album, Brisbane trio Dune Rats have scored their first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit is the follow-up to the band’s self-titled debut (#22 Jun. ’14). Two of the album’s tracks, ‘Bullshit’ and ‘Scott Green’, placed at #33 and #34 respectively in the recent Triple J Hottest 100.

The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit is the second Australian #1 album on the ARIA Charts in 2017.

#4: Human Nature ‘Gimme Some Lovin’: Jukebox Vol. II’ – Human Nature’s former #1 jumps back up 13 spots this week as the quartet’s national tour begins.

#5: Ocean Grove ‘The Rhapsody Tapes’ (debut) – Melbourne metalcore band Ocean Grove make their debut on the ARIA Albums Chart with The Rhapsody Tapes. The band’s first album was written, recorded and produced in the bedroom of drummer Sam Bassal.

#6: Ed Sheeran ‘X’ – In its 133rd week in the top 50, X returns to the top ten for an 87th week. Its resurgence comes on the back of Sheeran’s promo visit to Australia this week.

#10: Guns N’ Roses ‘Greatest Hits’ – With Guns N’ Roses’ Australian tour up and running, Greatest Hits jumps 14 spots to grab a twelfth week in the top ten.
