Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: Drake ‘God’s Plan’ – Drake tops the ARIA Singles Chart for a fifth consecutive week with ‘God’s Plan’.

#2: Post Malone Feat. Ty Dolla $ign ‘Psycho’ (debut) – Post Malone picks up his third top ten on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Psycho’. Taken from the forthcoming Beerbongs & Bentleys album, the Ty Dolla $ign-featured track is the second top ten single from the album after ‘Rockstar’ (#1 Oct. ’17). The American rapper has also previously hit the top ten with ‘I Fall Apart’ (#2 Jan. ’18).

#13: Marshmello & Anne-Marie ‘Friends’ – In its third week in the top 50, the collaboration between American producer Marshmello and English singer Anne-Marie, ‘Friends’, moves up nine spots to #13. Marshmello has previously charted with the Khalid collaboration ‘Silence’ (#5 Jan. ’18) and the Selena Gomez collaboration ‘Wolves’ (#5 Dec. ’17). ‘Friends’ is Anne-Marie’s first appearance on the chart as a lead artist since ‘Alarm’ (#7 Aug. ’16).

#16: Vance Joy ‘We’re Going Home’ – Topping the Albums Chart this week with his second album Nation Of Two, Vance Joy scores a new Singles Chart peak with ‘We’re Going Home’ as it moves up 15 spots to #16.

#19: Khalid & Normani ‘Love Lies’ – A week on from debuting at #29, ‘Love Lies’ by American artists Khalid and Normani is up ten spots to #19. The track comes from the soundtrack to the forthcoming film Love, Simon. It’s R&B singer-songwriter Khalid’s fourth top 50 appearance as a lead artist following ‘Location’ (#39 Aug. ’17), ‘Young Dumb & Broke’ (#4 Nov. ’17) and the Marshmello collaboration ‘Silence’ (#5 Jan. ’18). For Fifth Harmony member Normani, it’s her first single release away from the group.

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Vance Joy ‘Nation Of Two’ (debut) – Melbourne singer-songwriter Vance Joy scores his second #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with Nation Of Two. The follow-up to debut Dream Your Life Away (#1 Sept. ’14) features the singles ‘Lay It On Me’ (#18 Sept. ’17) and ‘We’re Going Home’ (#16 Mar. ’18). Vance Joy will be touring nationally in support of the album in September. Dream Your Life Away is up eight spots this week to #18.

Nation Of Two is the first Australian #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in 2018.

#3: Ed Sheeran ‘÷’ – Kicking off his Australian tour in Perth this weekend, Ed Sheeran holds three spots in this week’s top 20. ÷ remains at #3 this week, while X is up two to #8 and + jumps eight spots to #12.

#5: Sarah Blasko ‘Depth Of Field’ (debut) – With her sixth studio album, Sarah Blasko takes out a fifth top ten on the ARIA Albums Chart. Depth Of Field comes two and half years on from Eternal Return (#6 Nov. ’15). Much of Depth Of Field was written and recorded during a two-week artist residency at Campbelltown Arts Centre in Sydney. The recording was captured in the documentary Blasko, which aired on ABC TV last November. Sarah Blasko has also charted in the top ten with What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have (#7 Oct. ’06), As Day Follows Night (#5 Jul. ’09) and I Awake (#9 Nov. ’12).

#11: 6ix9ine ‘Day69’ (debut) – American rapper 6ix9ine makes his Albums Chart debut with the mixtape Day69. The release includes guest appearances by Fetty Wap, Young Thug and more.

#20: Augie March ‘Bootikins’ (debut) – Melbourne’s Augie March return with their first album in four yearsBootikins. The follow-up to Havens Dumb (#14 Oct. ’14) is the group’s sixth album and gives them a sixth entry in the ARIA top 50. Augie March’s highest peak to date on the Albums Chart was with Watch Me Disappear (#4 Oct. ’08).
