FALL OUT BOY – Young And Menace (Single Review)

The Punk Rock band Fall Out Boy are back again with their new release single titled Young And Menace. Fall Out Boy have been within the punk rock genre of music since 2001, as they have been continuously working hard to innovate themselves and to produce smash hit after smash hit like The Take Over The Break’s Over, Alone Together, Centuries, Thnks Fr Th Mmrs just to name a few.

Fall Out Boy is back again with their new single Young And Menace which is off their new up coming album titled Mania which make Fall Out Boy’ album count to a massive number of seven albums in total to date. Their album Mania is set to be released 15 September, so keep a note in your diary everyone this album is going to be HUGE. With Fall Out Boy releasing their new single Young And Menace, the music video for the new track, the release date for their up coming album Mania all in one day but wait there’s more….

The band also announced that they will be touring starting this coming October. Talk about hype!

Fall Out Boy

Before initially listening to the track Young And Menace I begun to watch reaction videos to the song just to see what the general feel of it was. However I feel like the general take on this track was quite negative as people kept comparing it to their older material. However after doing some background research I went and listened to the single Young And Menace myself. Young And Menace is a very different sound to Fall Out Boy’ older
music as their older stuff is more of a hardcore punk rock tracks but this particular song is very different as it is more of a collaboration between the genres of Punk Rock and EDM. Fall Out Boy hands down have to be one of my favourite bands of all time. And after listening to Young And Menace I feel like the boys wanted to musically experiment and be different.

As Fall Out Boy have been known in the past for being constant innovators musically. However people’ opinions may vary for this particular song Young And Menace as the track is very different but for me it’s a good different as I am quite a big EDM fan. The stand out elements within the song Young And Menace would include Patrick Stump’ mono tone voice as it really sets the overall mood of the song as the song progresses the slow but steady intro of the drums and guitars. The track slowly transitions to a more of an up paced song lyrically, instrument wise and beat wise as they transition into the chorus you finally hear the bass drop which is what you don’t initially expect as Fall Out Boy is formally known as a Punk Rock Band.

With in the chorus each and every beat change, transition of tone, layering of sounds and every instrument played like the drums and the guitars you can feel every pound within your chest. I feel as though the track has really good layering and blending of both elements of electronic sounds and tones and the instruments played like the drums and the electric guitars as it is their personal twist on the style of EDM.

Fall Out Boy

Collectively as whole overall In my eyes the single by Fall Out Boy, Young And Menace is a winner, as some listeners might not agree as it is complete left field to what they usually produce. But this is exactly why I like this track so much because it’s not like anything they have done previously. The track Young and Menace keeps the listeners on their toes and by Fall Out Boy releasing Young And Menace they have definitely proved that the band
are innovators and that they can’t be boxed in.

Fall Out Boy Young And Menace is out now, you must check it out!!
