Taylor Henderson is headlining “Camp Gallipoli” this weekend in Melbourne. Amnplify’s Pauli Dee spoke to Taylor about what got him interested in such an event, his up-coming album release and todays devastating news that pop legend Prince had past away. Here’s how their chat went:

Taylor: Hey Paul, how are you going?

Pauli: Hi mate. Yeah I’m always good on Fridays! How are you?

Taylor: Yeah, I’m feelin’ ya!

Pauli: You’re feeling good?

Taylor: I feel great man. I had a bit of a late night last night. I caught a midnight flight home, so I had the morning off, which is nice, so you’ve got me at a good time!

Pauli: haha well I’m glad I didn’t call you at seven o’clock this morning then! What have you got on for the rest of your day?

Taylor: Well I’ve been recording in Sydney for the last week and I’ve only just got back to Melbourne, so I’ll be doing some more recording.

Pauli: Ooh, so what are we recording?

Taylor: This is my third album in the making, so it’s all the final recordings & just the last touches. It’s so exciting. I’ve been working on it for a long time now & I guess some times you change direction & certain songs come to you at different points. You know, like this week I’ve written three songs. I mean I’m always writing but this week I wrote these three and these are the ones that are going to make the album.

Pauli: Have all three of these songs seen the studio?

Taylor: Yep! All three are done. Its great. I nearly have the whole album done. I’m just putting some finishing touches to it then we’re  on our way to launching it!

Pauli: Do we have any sort of timeline as to when we can expect a release?

Taylor: I was told September, but now they’re moving it forward, so it’ll come in the next couple of months, so that’s really exciting!
