How would you describe your journey in the music industry so far, and where do you want to go from here with your music?

I love that I get to play music and work in the industry. I hope that I get to do this for the rest of my life. I think my journey in the music industry so far has taught me many things – and obviously I am still learning and growing every day. It’s definitely helped me become a bit more resilient as a person and toughen up a little.

When did you know you wanted to make music, and perform as your career?

Well, according to my mum, since before I could walk or talk but also I remember being at a Paul Kelly and Uncle Kev Carmody concert when I was younger, I would have been seven and I remember just being in absolute awe and thinking like this is what I want to do when I grow up. I want to be able to sing songs that I’ve written and perform them I front of strangers.

Who have been your musical influences or artists you have admired growing up?

Definitely growing up Paul Kelly was a huge influence on me. I loved the way a lot of his songs were stories. Was also a big Kasey Chambers fan, a lot of country and folk music but then at the same time I’d also be listening to big pop stars like Britney Spears and also want to be like her, so a big mix!

Are there any artists or musicians that you have been so impacted by that it changed your view on life or mentality toward music?

Definitely. I think some of the greatest artists are people who challenge the way we think through their music and really make you stop and think. Obviously I have extremely similar views as Briggs and Trials but I think the last AB ORIGINAL album did that to a lot of people.

How would you describe your sound, and why is it unique from other artist’s sound?

I think I’ll leave this to other people!

What can fans expect as far as upcoming tours, or music after SUNSET SERIES in Feb?

Expect me back on the road playing shows and hopefully on your radio airwaves as my debut album is finally gonna be released!!! I am pretty bloody stoked.

What are your goals for 2018 with your music career?  

To release my first album and also to do some more collaborating with some of my favourites.

If you weren’t working in the music industry, what else do you think you would be doing with your life right now?

Probaby would work with animals, most likely dogs. I am not really good at anything else besides music and dogs so maybe a job that incorporates both.

What’s one song fans might be surprised you really like?

Anything by Michael Bublè.

.

Do you have one performance that stands out so far as being your favourite, or most memorable?

When I performed at the 2012 Deadly Awards at the Sydney Opera House. I was only 17 at the time and got all dolled up and performed in front of some really incredible mob.

.

Lastly, just for fun – If you had to eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would you choose?

Mango forever !
