Who’s ready for a Spanish fiesta?

Latin hit maker Luis Fonsi is back with powerhouse songstress Demi Lovato to release their new Spanglish duet Échame La Culpa. Demi had spent the lead up to the release teasing the track and music video across all her social media platforms. Luis continues his strong path to an extremely successful 2017 after the release of the biggest track of the year Despacito with Daddy Yankee & Justin Bieber. Demi also extends her year long triumphs after the release of her smash hit single Sorry Not Sorry in July, still managing to remain strong on the Billboard 100 chart within the top 10.

The track automatically gives off a prominent Latin flavour the moment it begins. The use of bold guitar and banjo strums within the instrumental give the track that cultural authenticity even with the use of some English lyrics throughout. The beat is effortlessly upbeat and has a reggaeton nature to it that will make you want to get up and dance immediately. The structure of the tempo is quite entertaining and perfectly supports Luis’ contention in making the track a reflection of his Puerto Rican roots, allowing Demi to give it that commercial flair the track needs.

The lyrics for the track are quite flirtatious and fun. Luis sings the track in complete Spanish as Demi puts her Spanish skills to the test as she sings half the song in Spanish as well as English. Although I have no idea what is being said most of the track, the English part of the tune describes the fact that both singers are putting the blame for their mistakes in love on themselves rather than the other person. The lyrics of the track bring both singers together through compromise, giving the ambiance of the song to be fairly sexy and intimate. Their vocals rebound perfectly off one another as the track runs entirely smooth.

As Luis continues to surprise with worldwide hits featuring huge artists within pop culture, he hits another gold medal with this track as the music video broke the Latin 24 hour world record, gathering over 17 million views on YouTube. The colourful music video and explosive lyrics add to Demi’s extremely noticeable high within 2017 as the songstress is on a path of hit after hit. With the track already remaining steady on the worldwide charts, there’s no doubt that this new Despacito will continue to rise and definitely be here to stay.
