Christopher Drew began Never Shout Never back in 2007 when he was 16, now after 6 full-length albums and 9 EPs the band came down to Australia for their Throwback Tour! What an awesome throwback it was with all the requests from the audience, playing their most well known and obvious crowd-favourite songs.

First on the lineup was local Adelaide act Stansbury. After recently playing with Tonight Alive, Stansbury played some of their well known favourites Riverbend and a cover of Faded by Alan Walker. It was great to see the crowd singing along “where are you know” during the song. They mentioned that the first ever song Paul learnt on guitar and sang to the band was Big City Dreams by Never Shout Never, back when they were about 16 years old.

Next up was another local Adelaide band, After Change with their last gig for the year. They recently released their Feelin Fine EP and played some cool songs from that, including Hurricane and Too Close To Home. As well as an amazing cover of The Kill by 30 Seconds to Mars! After Change are one of the coolest local bands and have some definite bangers.

Finally was Never Shout Never, current 3 piece, drums, keys and guitar/vocals, Hayden Kaiser, Tof Hoglen and Christopher Drew. Sticking with their theme of flowers, they had bunches along the drum kit, keys, and mic stands to decorate the stage. After playing a couple of songs from their Me and My Ukulele and The Yippee EP, they began taking requests. Christopher Drew personalised every song by talking to each person who requested the song as well as asking their names and making the song out to them. Christopher Drew told everyone that tonight “we’re all friends” and its a fun, ‘non-professional’ gig. This made the night enjoyable and more chilled.

The whole band had a laid back personality while still making the night a good high energy performance. Some crowd favourites from the night included Trouble, On the Brightside and CheaterCheaterBestFriendEater.
