Niall Horan – Slow Hands (Single Review)

“We should take this back to my place, that’s what she said right to my face. ‘Cause I want you bad, yeah, I want you baby. I’ve been thinking ‘bout it all day and I hope you feel the same way, yeah ‘cause I want you bad, yeah, I want you baby…”

Co-written by the man himself, Slow Hands is the new single from Irish charmer and singer-songwriter Niall Horan. Slow Hands follows Niall’s debut solo single This Town released late last year; an acoustic filled ballad about longing for the one you love. This Town debuted at number one in America and Australia and at number two in the UK, while debuting at number one on the Billboard charts. Slow Hands is no different, debuting at number one on the US charts and at number two in the UK. For any One Direction fan, seeing their favourite band go on hiatus and then all go solo could be a little heart breaking personally (and for the bank) but I am embracing this new solo Niall and absolutely loving it!

Slow Hands is a real dirty, heavy bass filled track with a funky, hip swaying electric guitar sound. If that wasn’t enough for you, the lyrics say it all and more. Can’t forget that Niall wrote Temporary Fix, a song from One Direction’s last album Made In The AM… A song that sent 1D fans into absolute meltdown because of the lyrics alone, and Slow Hands is no different. I don’t think I’ve ever seen lyrics match a melody quite as good as I do with Slow Hands. The song is dirty, the song is sultry, the song is sexy.

“Slow, slow hands like sweat dripping down that dirty laundry. No, no chance that I’m leaving here without you on me. I, I know, yeah, I already know that there ain’t no stopping your plans and those slow hands, slow hands…”

So now that we have two singles released to the world, does that mean we are one step closer to Niall’s debut solo album? Your guess is as good as mine! Either way, 2017 is slowly becoming the year for Niall Horan and his music. I’m excited for what is yet to come!

Slow Hands, what a hit! Go check it out!
