On the 27th of September at The Hordern Pavilion the British heart throb band The Vamps and New Hope Club hit the Sydney stage ready to impress fans and blow the roof off The Hordern Pavilion. With initially walking into the venue the atmosphere contained within the walls of The Hordern Pavilion was electrifying as everyone was running around, dancing, talking and laughing with other individuals surrounding them, getting drinks, getting comfortable and preparing themselves for what the night had planned for them. And that’s when I knew a great night was ahead of us.

At 8:00pm the first act named the New Hope Club exploded onto the stage, having the audience in the palm of their hands as they brought excitement and a hyped up energy onto the stage. British boy band New Hope Club performed an hour long set performing hit after hit off their new Ep titled Welcome To The Club. These tracks include Friend Of A Friend, Water, Perfume and Fixed. However amongst their set they had surprised the audience with a cover of fellow English – man Harry Styles Sign Of The Times which thoroughly surprised audience members as the entire of The Hordern Pavilion were singing Sign Of The Times at the top of their lungs which made things a little more intimate and made the audience feel a little more engaged with the New Hope Club. But progressively through out the New Hope Club’s one hour long set the atmosphere and energy within the room grew and grew.

After the New Hope Club’ performance, The Vamps were ready to bring the roof off The Hordern Pavilion as you could feel the excitement and hype screaming within the room. The Vamps straight away exploded onto the stage of The Hordern Pavilion. As The Vamps showcased their amazing talents with how well they sing, play their instruments and of course their audience interaction. Throughout performances The Vamps audience engagement and interaction was amazing as they talked and interacted with the audience members as they asked us to sing as loudly as we could, asked us to put our shades on for the song Shades On, attempted and Australian accent and the magical appearance of floating beach balls across the mosh pit for the high energy tracks. Going into the concert I didn’t quite know what to expect setlist wise, but the British Heart Throbs had performed a perfect balance of their songs some of the old classics alongside with the new. As the classics entailed performing songs like Somebody To You, Can We Dance and Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart). Whilst The Vamps performed the classics of their songs they had the entire room singing in sync with them to each and every song.

•Shout out to the three rowdy brothers standing in front of me in the mosh pit for screaming each and every lyric and violently dancing around to Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart) I appreciate you and Thank You for making my night a very memorable one •

The other half of The Vamps set was purely tracks from their new album Night & Day which included tracks like Hands, Wake Up, Wild Heart, Sad Song, All Night, Staying Up, Same To You and Paper Hearts. With their outstanding performance for each and every song they had the audience on an emotional roller coaster ride the whole duration of the concert. As some of the songs they had performed like Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart), Staying Up, Can We Dance and All Night had the mosh pit turn into a mini night club as everyone was having a great time, singing at the top of their lungs and wildly dancing around. However on the opposite side of the spectrum with other songs performed but specifically Same To You and Paper Hearts had me sobbing (yes I was actually crying…) as Same To You and Paper Hearts are my personal favourites of mine off the Night & Day album.

Overall though The Vamps performance at The Hordern Pavilion was an amazing one, as I didn’t quite know what to expect initially but their performance was top notch, they had amazing audience engagement and interaction, The Vamps brought along an amazing energy and good vibes which transcended to the audience. Which allowed the audience to have a great time, sing along together, dance around without a care in the world and have it be completely okay. Which is exactly why this particular concert would have to be one of the best ones I have been too this year so far. Having a simple concert than transform into a giant celebration of great music that The Vamps have worked hard to create and produce.
