Well I hope you’re not feeling emotional because Totally Mild’s ‘Lucky Stars’ may very well have you reaching for a large glass of wine.

The 4 piece from Melbourne headed by Elizabeth Mitchell, sings with such brevity and tender contemplation backed by piano and a simple arrangement. It’s a taster before the group releases their second album, Her in February 2018. Mitchell’s voice carries the ballad with a delicacy as she ruminates on the past and a slightly uncertain future.

Think Lana Del Rey without the malaise and the tenderness of Birdy with all the lushness and warm tones of their music and you have Totally Mild, quite a erroneous moniker because there is more going on here I suspect. Still it is a lovely feather in the cap that will soon be apart of their sophomore album.
