Announce to Launch Souther Comfort Presents…

SOUTHERN SOUNDS

.

.

Southern Comfort today announce Southern Sounds, a string of curated nights inspired by the spirit of New Orleans – set to descend upon some of Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane’s most celebrated venues throughout summer – kicking off in January 2018.

Southern Comfort have handpicked some of their favourite Australian performers to celebrate the diverse and thriving culture of New Orleans, a city built on a love of live music and shared experience. Entry is on Southern Comfort, with a first come, first serve policy; so be sure to get down early.

Southern Sounds ramps up in Melbourne on January 11, where fierce hip hop duo REMI, fast-rising act LOSSLESS and local artist Sezzo Snot will perform a soul-infused, Thursday evening set from Northcote Social Club. The following week on January 18, Southern Sounds will head to Melbourne’s The Night Cat where Oscar Key Sung will lay his powerful, contemporary beats down alongside support from Silentjay (live) and Mira Boru, before heading to Sydney’s Botany View Hotel for a night dedicated to rock’n’roll and its prominent influence on the southern culture. Witness Sydney favourites Palms take the stage, following garage trio Bloods and Shag (DJ) on January 26. The Southern Sounds tour will make a final stop at Brisbane’s The Foundry on February 1, where Joyride, Tiana Khasi and FlexMami will each deliver a rapturous, eclectic set of ground-breaking, hip hop magic.

Southern Sounds will evoke the taste of New Orleans with bespoke Southern Sours and whiskey cocktails, providing ample added refreshment. Founded more than 140 years ago, Southern Comfort was born in the heart of New Orleans and is a key factor to the festive rise of the city’s vibrant live music scene. Southern Comfort has captured this melting pot of eclectic and vibrant spirits and will be re-creating it in Australia.

Don’t miss experiencing the spirit of New Orleans through sound and taste, when Southern Sounds invite some of Australia’s most highly regarded and passionate live performers to tell their stories in the height of summer in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Stay tuned as additional Southern Comfort events pop up at select locations with more of the country’s finest talents still to be announced in early 2018.

January 26, Botany View Hotel – Sydney

Celebrating rock n roll’s key influence, Southern Sounds will head deep into Sydney’s Inner West to the Botany View Hotel, where indie-rock royalty Palms will bring fury to the summer evening. Clocking a long-standing reputation for their fuzzed-out, unrelenting sound, Palms have sat at the forefront of Sydney’s band scene since their debut album Step Brothers emerged in 2013. Co-headlining the night will be Bloods; pledging their own brand of rock fusion with their textured melodies and raucous energy, which laid the foundations to their critically acclaimed EP Golden Fang and the debut album Work It Out that followed. The trio will follow on from Shag, who’ll be warming up the crowd with his primetime indie jams to commence the evening.
