Sensible J Shares His Debut Single “Fire Sign”

One of the country’s most respected hip-hop artists, Melbourne producer Sensible J shares his debut single, “Fire Sign”. Out on his co-run imprint House of Beige, “Fire Sign” features the label’s other half and J’s musical partner in crime Remi Kolawole alongside rising star Sampa The Great.

Premiered on Richard Kingsmill’s ‘2017’ on triple j and Clash Magazine“Fire Sign” delivers an instant groove, featuring interwoven vocals and verses from Sampa and Remi, while Sensible J drops in layers of percussion, funk and hip-hop. True to form, the trio shed light on cultural diversity and community, characteristics that are strong not only in the single, but too in their upcoming collaborative tour.

Last year we saw Sensible J, Remi Kolawole (collectively known as REMI) and Sampa The Great team up to release “For Good”, the first single off REMI’s sophomore album, Divas and Demons. The Dilla-inspired, soulful track received international acclaim and solidified all artist’s places in the hip hop and soul spectrum.

While “Fire Sign” might be the first official release from percussionist and beat maker Sensible J, he’s been gracing us with his talents for quite some time. Having been the producer behind the acclaimed, award-winning REMI records, Raw X Infinity and last years Divas and Demons album, Sensible J is a key player and driving force in Australia’s ever-growing hip-hop scene.

“Fire Sign” is lifted from Sensible J’s debut solo album, which is set for release later this year. Only days out from J, Remi and Sampa’s co-headline Australian tour, what better time to make his incredible solo debut.
