Brisbane rockers The Dollar Bill Murrays upcoming show at Sydney’s Frankie’s Pizza, is part of their tour down the east coast in support of their new single “Dancing with Death”

.

.

It’s the first release since their ‘Always On’ EP in April 2017, with the quartet tapping into their more peculiar after-dark experiences for the new infectiously-groovy single. There’s touches of cowbell, cheeky counter licks, and more than enough crashing cymbals and furious strumming to have late-night revellers bouncing along to the after-dark rock gem.

2017 saw the Brisbane quartet release plenty of new music, produce their debut music video, embark on their first interstate tour (in support of EP ‘Always On’), sign with Brisbane boutique label Valley Heat Records, support several established acts including The Delta Riggs, and brew their own award-winning lager – Bill F. Murray Malt Liquor (the ‘f’ stands for f*cking) – with All Inn Brewing Co.

Fun facts about new single “Dancing with Death”

  • When recording the single, vocalist Felix Lindgren sang through a rolled-up drumhead to achieve an unique vocal tone.

  • The track doesn’t feature distinctive lead or rhythm guitar parts, rather the guitarists swap roles throughout based on their tone and playing style – conveying the contrasting styles of Felix and Antii Kovacs.

During recording, Antii ran two amps simultaneously with an array of microphones across each to generate a variety of guitar tones in the track.
