The Neighbourhood are taking back Sydney with new monthly emo party ‘AM//PM’ at The Burdekin

Sydney collective The Neighbourhood make their grand return to the party circuit with the announcement of a brand new monthly emo night AM//PM. Set to takeover Oxford St mainstay The Burdekin each month, the crew will kick things off with a Good Friday Eve party on April 13 – reliving the golden era of emo and Oxford St’s alternative party scene.

AM//PM is the dawn of Sydney’s emo revival with three levels of nostalgic emo tunes, party and massive band lineups, paving the way for venues to reimagine their spaces and reinvigorate the local live music scene. Good Friday Eve promises to deliver with a belting pop-punk lineup which will see Our Past Days perform their last ever 18+ show, joined by Between You & MeRumours and Whatever, Forever plus scene legends Norman, Dawson, Mikey and Steve Zappa on the decks evoking mass-singalongs to teenage favourites from Alexisonfire, to Blink 182, Fall Out Boy and The Used.

Tickets are $15+BF and on sale now via Oztix

Drink specials on the night include $6 Coors beers and $7 Sparkke brews, the latter a nod to The Neighbourhood’s ongoing efforts to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive club night, and highlighting their support of gender equality and the importance of sexual consent – two social issues which are often overlooked on the party circuit. On the need for a club night like AM//PM, co-founder Toby Bramley explains “We really just feel that we have lost a venue to call home, and after years of waiting for something to pop up, we realized we needed to do it ourselves. It really means a lot to us that everyone, especially the younger kids who never experienced what it was like before, can come to a venue and feel safe, feel like they really belong in our little community, know everyone’s name and just know they can have a good time.”

Joining forces to form The NeighbourhoodToby ‘Norman’ BramleyDawson Michaels and Thomas Milgate are three passionate promoters who over the past decade have worked across live music events, weekly club parties and festival afterparties to bring Sydney some of the cities most infamous parties, the world’s best-loved bands and countless unforgettable guest DJ sets. Following the success of Haus Party on Australia Day, The Neighbourhood present AM//PM to celebrate the music they love, and the music you grew up with. Emo forever!
