Ed Sheeran equals Eminem as ‘Shape Of You’ chalks up 12 straight weeks at No. 1

Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: Ed Sheeran ‘Shape Of You’ – ‘Shape Of You’ by Ed Sheeran maintains its spot at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart for a twelfth consecutive week. The last single to hold #1 for 12 straight weeks was Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ in 2002/03. Sheeran has eight tracks in total in this week’s top 50.

#3: Zedd Feat. Alessia Cara ‘Stay’ – Moving up one spot from last week, ‘Stay’ gives Zedd his first appearance in the top three on the ARIA Singles Chart.

#4: Drake ‘Passionfruit’ – In its second week in the top 50, Drake’s ‘Passionfruit’ jumps up 12 spots. It becomes the Canadian rapper’s sixth top ten single, the first since ‘Too Good’ (#3 Jun. ’16).

#18: Clean Bandit Feat. Zara Larsson ‘Symphony’ – A week on from debuting at #42, Clean Bandit’s ‘Symphony’ moves up the chart 24 spots to #18.

#21: Zayn Feat. Partynextdoor ‘Still Got Time’ (debut) – Former One Direction member Zayn scores his fifth solo entry on the ARIA top 50 with ‘Still Got Time’. Featuring Canadian rapper Partynextdoor, the track is the first to be released from Zayn’s forthcoming second album. His duet with Taylor Swift, ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’, sits at #19 on this week’s chart.

#1: Ed Sheeran ‘÷’ – For the fourth week in succession, Ed Sheeran tops the ARIA Albums Chart with ÷. Both of Sheeran’s other studio albums, X and +, have slipped out of the top ten this week, they’re at #11 and #13, respectively.

#2: Lee Kernaghan ‘The 25th Anniversary Album’ (debut) – Australian country star Lee Kernaghan celebrates a quarter of a century since the release of his debut album The Outback Club (#58 May. ’94) with The 25th Anniversary Album. Kernaghan’s thirteenth studio album features collaborations with James Blundell, Adam Brand, Adam Harvey, The McClymonts, Kasey Chambers and more. He last charted with Spirit Of The Anzacs (#1 Mar. ’15).

#3: Northlane ‘Mesmer’ (debut) – Sydney metalcore band Northlane return with fourth studio album Mesmer. The album was released on 24 March with no prior warning. It’s the follow-up to Node (#1 Aug. ’15).

#7: James Blunt ‘The Afterlove’ (debut) – Singer-songwriter James Blunt releases his fifth studio album, The Afterlove. It comes four years on from his previous album,Moon Landing (#2 Oct. ’13). In between studio albums, Blunt charted with the box set I’ll Take Everything (#5 Oct. ’15).

#10: Steel Panther ‘Lower The Bar’ (debut) – The fourth studio album from Steel Panther gives the American glam rockers their second appearance in the ARIA top ten.Lower The Bar is the follow-up to All You Can Eat (#2 Apr. ’14). Steel Panther last charted with the live release Live From Lexxi’s Mom’s Garage (#19 Mar. ’16).
