THE SAND DOLLARS Release ‘CHOPS’
‘CHOPS’ is the second single to drop from Tarantino inspired rockers The Sand Dollars much awaited debut EP.
Loaded with angular guitar riffs, an edgy indie-rock melody and a crescendo-esc life of its own, showcasing the band’s prolific songwriting ability. Produced by Nikita Miltiadou who has risen to fame after producing Tash Sultana’s EP Notion with two singles charting in the triple j Hottest 100, including her hit ‘Jungle’ at number 3.
Things are definitely heating up for the Melbourne based quartet with the band nabbing supporting slots to highly regarded Aussie acts Alex Lahey, Kingswood, DZ Deathrays, Jeremy Neale, Architecture in Helsinki, in 2016 and The Living End + The Bennies at the 2017 Australian Open.
“Won’t you better, take me out.” belts out lead singer Michael Baini in The Sand Dollars call to action, for all the disco daydreamers who get down every day of the week. “It’s time to recognise the busted moves, the scuffed shoes, and the Gin and Tonics spilled for the groove; all of which form the backbone of the boogie. And to the hopeless romantics out there rethinking their evening at home in a bathrobe drinking a sac de vin, we encourage you to act, because tonight there’s no telling what could happen on the dance floor. And if you try a little harder, your daydreams may turn true.” – THE SAND DOLLARS
“Fitted out with guitar riffs sure to catch your ear, ‘Chops’ is a fine example of what’s to come from these guys. The indie rock melodies soar while the presentation of “Chops” demonstrates the development The Sand Dollars have undergone over the course of recent songwriting session.” – AU REVIEW
“I like the surf/western influence on this one. I’m keen to hear where they take this sound.” – TRIPLE J, DOM ALESSIO
“We love the weirdness, we love the sound, rock on you crazy diamonds!” – AAA BACKSTAGE
“Saw these babes live at the Gaso in Melb and they rip and roar – love them!” – TRIPLE J, NKECHI ANELE 4 STARS

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
