This song has been trying to come out of me for many years… I made this riff when I was 22 and I haven’t been able to put lyrics down until now, at 30 years. ‘Stronger’ is a reflection of my life and the ups and downs I went through in my 20’s. I was travelling a lot through this time, one minute feeling on top of the world, to the next like my life was crashing down. When I finally returned home to no job, no real purpose and completely lost I hit rock bottom. I decided I couldn’t live like this. I really had to dig deep and I decided to put everything into my music. ‘Stronger’ is about standing up, not allowing your past to get in the way, breaking through boundaries and ‘running with the storm’ not fighting it. Life will always have its ups and downs but it’s our choice what we do with it. I wanted to create this song to make people feel empowered. My band really helped me shape this into the power ballad it is. And we’re all very proud of it.

In 2016, The Sea Gypsies turned heads and has since played at renowned festivals such as Beyond the Valley, Mountain Sounds and Lost Paradise. The Sea Gypsies have been focusing on delivering their debut album and have come out with “Stronger”, giving fans a taste of what is to come. Having shared the stage with the likes of Ocean Alley and WinstonSurfshirt, along with the release of “Stronger”, The Sea Gypsies celebrate with an upcoming East Coast tour beginning in April.
