OH WHITE MARE
to Release All The Modern Lovers EP
Listen to Single ‘Throw Me A Line’ Now
“Both lead and back up vocalists had an amazing set of pipes…Oh White Mare are certainly ones to keep an eye on as their music and thoroughly enjoyable live performance progress even further.” – Xpress Magazine
After spending their formative days writing songs and honing skills in an old attic owned by Aussie music legend Snowy Fleet, Perth-based indie rockers Oh White Mare are set to unleash the All The Modern Lovers EP, featuring lead single ‘Throw Me A Line’.
Following on from 2016 A&R Department-released single ‘Outsiders’, OWM once again called upon ol’ pal Andy Lawson at Perth’s famed Debaser Studios for recording & mixing duties. Mastering was handled by the renowned Brian Lucey (Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys) at Magic Garden Mastering.
Opening track ‘Throw Me A Line’ immediately sets off on a soaring string hook. With lyrical content pleading ironic desperation, the propulsive groove and rolling dynamic defines the OWM aesthetic. The title track feels like the band has just stumbled out of the desert, featuring after hours vocals, and hooks oozing that mysterious west coast vibe. The brooding atmosphere of ‘Perfect Storm’ becomes enveloped by a crescendo of overdriven guitar and keyboard, while ‘All Right’ is a nod to the psychedelia of old, and rounds out the four-track offering.
Guitarist/vocalist Ross Wood notes, “the quality and construction of the EP is something we are proud of, with each track offering something a little different – but tied together as a body of work that really represents the band.”
To celebrate the release, Oh White Mare is throwing a huge launch party at exciting Perth venue Babushka on Saturday 22nd April 2017. Accompanying them for an amazing night of music will be Perth stalwarts The Caballeros, cool rockers Foxton Kings, and up ‘n’ comers Jay Wol Johnson & The Humble Bees. Talented local artist James Giddy will also be along for the ride, contributing live paintings on the night!
Taking influence from the likes of cool Brit Alex Turner and the desert rock vibes of Josh Homme – Oh White Mare’s new EP and upcoming shows should not be missed.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
