Today, triple j Mornings presenter Zan Rowe announced that at the end of the year she’ll be finishing up on triple j and taking up her dream job at Double J.

Double J are thrilled to welcome Zan and her incredible music expertise to the stable, with Zan taking to the airwaves from Monday to Friday in 2018. Zan will bring with her everything you love about triple j Mornings, including her sought after music recommendations, impeccable interview technique and the much loved Take 5 segment, where we got to hear gems like Brian Eno’s luminous songssongs that brought David Byrne and St Vincent together and the songs that changed the life of Laura Jane Grace.

On top of launching Mornings on Double J, Zan will bring you even more music news as the ABC Music Correspondent including artist interviews and conversations on ABC News Breakfast and ‘The Mix’. Zan will flex her love of film and television as a panellist on ABC TV’s ‘Screen Time’, and of course, Zan Rowe & Myf Warhurst will continue hanging out on their pop-culture weekly podcast Bang On.

Looking back at the past 10 years on triple j Mornings, Zan Rowe has been a much loved presenter, who has consistently entertained the triple j audience with in-depth conversations and discoveries of great new music. From hearing Bon Iver for the first time at SxSW in 2008 and getting his only interview at the festival in 2011, to covering Bush Bands Business in 2014 and meeting Eleanor ‘Nalyirri’ Dixon who went on to form 2017’s Double J Artist of the Year Nominee Kardajala Kirridarra, Zan has been a champion for new music, day-in day-out, telling the stories of her favourite artists.

Zan reflects on her time at triple j “Thirteen years ago, I found my dream job at triple j and for the past ten years I’ve been privileged to be the custodian of the triple j Mornings show. triple j is an incredible, national community and the bond that lives between our audience and presenters is a rare gift. I’m so honoured to have been given the chance to discover and share my favourite music with you guys. As I close the door on this chapter, I open the next, and wander down the hallway to our sister station to kick off a brand new Mornings show. It’s time for a new dream job and I can’t wait to discover and share the best new music with you on Double J.”

Stay tuned to triple j Mornings over the next two weeks as Zan relives show highlights and favourite memories of the last decade and spends her final segments with Dr Karl, who’ll keep educating the next generation of curious minds every week on triple j.

Tune in for our 2018 programs announce on Wednesday, where triple j will have a new face taking over triple j Mornings and Double J will featuring a few more new voices on air.
