The NSW Department of Education’s Schools Spectacular is an iconic, not-to-be-missed, cultural event.  In 2018, it returns for its 35^th year with a magnificent 2700 voice choir, 2300 dancers, an 80-piece symphony orchestra, a world-class stage band and a myriad of outstanding solo performers. Unequalled and unparalleled in terms of sheer size, scale and scope and with a Guinness World Record under its belt, the Schools Spectacular showcases the incredible talent of all ages from public schools across New South Wales.

Schools Spectacular 2018 will return to QUDOS Bank Arena, Sydney Olympic Park on the 23^rd and 24^th November 2018. The show will unite thousands of students, teachers and family supporters of varying cultures, socio-economic backgrounds and talents, all equally passionate about performance and being part of something remarkable.

With the magnificent John Foreman back as the show’s host, this year’s theme will focus on “the greatest”;  the greatest hits, greatest stories and lessons of all time, greatest musicals and theatrical shows, greatest heroes, greatest video games and one of THE greatest, Elton John, songs performed by some of the most remarkable young Australians you’ll ever see.

Over the decades, hundreds of Schools Spectacular participants have gone on to become professional musicians, singers, dancers, designers, producers and musical directors, with recent alumni including Morgan Evans, The McClymonts, Human Nature and Angus Stone, to name just a few. Many have performed in various illustrious Australian productions, such as Kinky Boots, Matilda, We Will Rock You, Hairspray, Les Miserables, The Bodyguard and more.  They’ve also featured as major award winners in industry awards such as the ARIA’s, The Golden Guitars and Helpmann Awards.
