The art and music worlds collided at the Art Gallery of New South Wales last Saturday night when Jenny Morris presented the 2022 Art of Music Collection for auction with proceeds going to Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy (Noro).
Art of Music takes Australia’s music royalty, pairs them up with some of Australia’s greatest living artists and then unites them with one of the world’s most inspirational charities. Due to the financial impact that COVID-19 has had on the non-profit organisation, coupled with the heightened demand for services, the proceeds from the Art of Music 2022 event come at a crucial time for Noro.
This year’s Collection included works from some of Australia’s most recognised and awarded artists including Nicholas Harding, Guy Maestri, Laura Jones, Robert Malherbe, Leila Jeffries, Alex Seton and Holly Greenwood. The Auction and raffles on the night raised over $275,000. See below for a full list of artists and their subjects.
All proceeds from the Gala Dinner and Charity Auction go to Noro to provide its internationally recognised music programs to assist those less advantaged. Registered Music Therapists use the power of music in live and interactive sessions to help people cope with the struggles of living with a wide range of needs. These include children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, autism, trauma, illness, Dementia, mental health issues, behaviour disorders and learning difficulties.
The 260 attendees were also entranced by musical performances from Tim Minchin (playing his Airport Piano which was auctioned later in the night), Kate Ceberano and PJ Harding (performing Marlon Williams’ Nobody Gets What They Want Anymore and Ngaiire who performed her song, Fall Into My Arms, which was the subject of Laura Jones’ work.
Noro CEO, Belinda Leonard, said “I am so grateful to Jenny Morris for having the vision and passion to pull this incredible event together. Bringing together stunning visual art with carefully curated musical performances is genius. The financial contribution, particularly this year in the shadow of Covid-19, enables us to deliver life-changing programs to participants. The artists, performers, sponsors and those generous people who ended the night with beautiful artworks and lighter wallets will hopefully all understand the positive impact that they have enabled”
Jenny Morris and Noro would like to thank all the artists, performers and sponsors, including Accor, IAS, Voyager Estate, Josh Yeldham, Hawkes Beer, Australis Music, Mr Cook and Yamaha. Their support of the event and Noro are greatly appreciated.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
