Today, enigmatic club-force 2charm share their debut ‘gooner pop’ album, star scum city, out now everywhere. In celebration, the duo are playing a series of sold out shows across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, which kicked off last night in Brisbane.
All of 2charm’s wet dreams come true on star scum city, a nine-track record that follows star-crossed footy boys from the summer streets of Australia to the beaches of Barcelona, the intricacies of queer love suffocating on small town streets and how it is born anew in ecstasy under the blinding strobe lights of European dancefloors.
Sexed up, sweaty club music filled with midnight resolutions, star scum city is shaped by the laid bare honesty and sly winking style of Britney Spears’ Blackout. Inspired by the EDM techno sleaze sounds of deadmau5, SOPHIE, Skrillex and Zedd, 2charm’s first-of-its-genre ‘gooner pop’ album was created in collaboration with Ninajirachi, 1tbsp and Simon Lam (Kllo, Armlock). The record is anchored by distorted beats, Y2K hooks and bubbly rave synths, capturing the restless spirit of youth on the fringe and booming with sparkling confidence. Each track pulses with raw energy, colliding street-level grit with something transcendent.

The album’s focus track “girls” is a euphoric, hyper-charged expression of devotion – it’s a fem-dreamland and we’re just living in it. Defined by the thumping mantra “it’s all about girls”, the track flashes like a neon sign, powered by hard-hitting European-style dance music and irresistibly addictive, gamified pop. 2charm share: “An ode to girls, and that especially includes trans girls!! Recession pop grandeur, escapism, euphoria. Ninajirachi on the beat and the word that’s on the street is all about girls”.
2charm’s debut universe is traced with anticipation and escape. “chateau” unfurls through crystalline production before collapsing into club-ready breakdowns, mimicking the rush of young love and lust – a dizzying devotion, set against memories of the ‘mango tree… on the northside’ where passion once felt constrained. Propelled by crisp keys, “prerogative” spreads the wings of the youthful experience, dominated by big heartbreak and even bigger dreams, uplifted by molten vocals, soothing the tumultuous emotions of the lyrics within. While “you will never be alone in barcelona” drifts into a hazy, immersive moment among the energy of a crowd, before synth kicks pull us back into motion. A warm tribute to 90s trance, inspired by a night at Primavera Sounds, specifically seeing Arca, Sega Bodega and Hannah Diamond all in one night.

From their breakout single “boyfriend” – which landed alongside a pivotal run of live moments in 2025, including supporting Mallrat at The Tivoli in Brisbane on its release day, followed by a standout set at SXSW Sydney – to the Ibiza-laced pop jewel follow up “paris (to get you out my head)” and most recent euphoria of “invisible wings”, 2charm have swiftly racked up critical acclaim. Rolling Stone Australia called their debut “flirty from every angle, with an addictive playfulness”, while TheCourier Mail placed the track on ‘Australia’s steamiest bedroom playlist’, Sydney Morning Herald proclaimed “their catalogue length is aural edging”, alongside inclusion in ‘The 25 best new Aussie artists of 2025’, while RAGE featured “paris (to get you out my head)” at #33 in the ‘RAGE 50 of 2025’ list.
Equally sweeping the live arena, 2charm closed out 2025 supporting SG Lewis and featuring on festival lineups such as Heaps Gay Street Party and Beyond The Valley, playing the latter’s main stage alongside the likes of Addison Rae. After spending this summer supporting Ninajirachi on her North America tour and a performance at Hannah Diamond’s debut club night HD Heaven in New York City, 2charm will next return home to celebrate the release of their debut album, with a series of sold out weekend pop-ups across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, before heading back stateside for their SXSW Austin showcases and debut headline dates across North American and Europe. So get out your fur hats and dust off your Dior Diorissimo frames and catch these two masculine NRL boys live in a city near you!
Equal parts horny and heartfelt, star scum city isn’t just an album – it’s a statement of intent.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
