unveils etheral EDM cut
‘WAY BACK DOWN’
Following on from his latest release ‘It’s Ok’, Brisbane-based producer du0 has today revealed his new single ‘Way Back Down’, produced and recorded by the artist himself and Stuart Stuart (Dean Lewis, The Veronicas).
The track opens with swirling synths and crisp lead vocals, reverbing across the songs expansive production. The chorus introduces dulcet vocal samples, supported by sharp hi hats and earthy snares, interlocked with a bounding synth bass.
du0 talks about the meaning behind ‘Way Back Down’: “The song is a reflection on the highs and subsequent lows in the breakdown of an intense and significant relationship. It is written looking back at the perceived invincibility of youth, when adventures are spontaneous and little time is spent considering the consequences, and how dark it can be once it’s over”.
du0 has garnered widespread support for his last two singles from the likes of Spotify, PIlerats, Acid Stag, Run The Trap and breaking into the top 10 in Hype Machine’s esteemed Now chart. This has been capped off with a feature on Back To Back Radio w/Willy Joy and Diplo.
du0’s songwriting has already received well-deserved recognition with an LA Music Award and as a finalist at the International Songwriting Competition. The artist has big plans for 2020, with a slew of new singles on the horizon.
In the coming weeks du0 will reveal an accompanying music video for ‘Way Back Down’.
