ROSE AVENUE
New Single
‘LOSING IT’

In 2014 Rose Avenue began playing as much as they can and literally anywhere from competitions (battle of the bands), local pubs (Barwon club, workers club), Coastal areas (Lorne skate park), hot spots in Melbourne (Corner Hotel, The Esplanade, First Floor, Grumpys) and good old classic house parties. That year they began to record and released an EP under a short lived independent label called Dreamline. Although due to circumstances they never got the chance to push it out as far as they would’ve liked to.
After the shaky start the band is back this year working stronger than ever by recording and writing new songs aiming to push further with their sound. Right now they are set to try and push out an album towards the end of this year and hopefully start touring in 2018. Their first single, “Losing it” which will be released through The A&R Department, will be the first of many to release from Rose Ave. These guys aim to push further than they’ve ever imagined, by being able to play gigs, open for bands across Australia and share their music anywhere they can.

The song “Losing It” was recorded at 2 separate venues. They recorded all the instrumentation at a studio called Rosneath Creative. All the vocals and producing was then done at a home studio by the amazing Australian ARIA chart topping producer/ songwriter from Studio’s 301 in Sydney, Jay Cabrera A.K.A Jhay C.
“Losing It” is a song written by lead singer Jeff. One day after cracking a cold beer, an exhausted Jeff envisioned a song that would be able to bring up peoples moods. He needed something simple, catchy, quirky and bright yet an underbelly that could give salute to the head bangers. He needed something that people can get up and dance to. As the song progressed he needed something to really make this track stand out so then naturally, he added the rap to it.
The song sounds like a classic Pop Blink 182 track with a twist. “Losing It” is literally about learning to have a good time, having fun, having a boogie and letting loose. The true core of song is to create that joyful atmosphere to be able to take the listener out of their world/shell. Lyrically to give listeners a positive message that everything’s going to be alright just learn to smile, be yourself, be weird, be a kid again, and have fun once in a while.
