Critically acclaimed Canadian folk-pop trio, Good Lovelies bring their powerful harmonies to Antipodean shores this March and April to celebrate the release of their 8th independent studio album, Shapeshifters, out now.

Joined by The Waif’s David Ross Macdonald on drums and celebrated Canadian MJ Dandeneau (Xavier Rudd, Pete Murray) on upright bass, Good Lovelies have 12 special appearances coming up at Australia’s premier National Folk Festival in Canberra, Blue Mountains Music Festival, Yackandandah Folk Festival, as well as sideshows throughout NSW and Victoria.

Renowned for creating a sound greater than the sum of their parts (they were each previously recognised solo artists), the five-time Canadian Folk Music and JUNO Award winners are receiving their greatest praise to date for the new record, which sees the three women produce their most accessible, pop-influenced work yet.

“We’ve been a band for eleven years since our mid-20s, so we’ve lived a lot of life! Two of us are mothers to young children and one member lost her mum a few years ago, all experiences we explore and work through on Shapeshifters,” said Caroline Brooks, vocalist and lead guitarist.

“This album is an exciting new beginning for us – something different for the fans who’ve been with us from the beginning, and something that’s helping us reach new audiences too.”

Taking out  #1 at the CBC Radio 2 SOCAN Awards earlier this year, lead single I See Gold is already proving a fan favourite, described by Top 100 Canadian Singles as “one of the finest blends the country has known.”
