Top 5 Photos Of The Week
Week 1
By Dave Bruce, CEO
.
Just as it sounds, we thought it was time to start highlighting some of the great work done by our Amnplify Photographers each week. Every week, photos will be submitted, a “Top 5” will be selected and voted on, and one photo will be given the title of our “Photo Of The Week”. Just a little recognition for a photographer who has a goal to shoot impeccably.
The truth is we have thousands of photos posted each month and most of our photographers should get an award for their work. Live Music Photography is a skill like no other. Whether you are squashed into a pit or roaming through the crowd for “The Shot”, the photographer usually has little time and on many occasions poor light to deal with, not to mention the usually “charged” crowd taking every “perfect” spot. In my eyes, they are experts in their field and often unseen and unheard. Over time, we want to change that a little.
Week 1 below. Plenty more to follow.
Enjoy the photos, and checkout more of their work. Watch out for flies as your mouths may be open as you do.

Dan Turner
I have been photographing artists for close to 15 years, including live shows & photo-shoots. I started off shooting local bands at the Lansdowne Hotel in Sydney where a friend of mine organised a monthly band night of eclectic musicians & styles. Whilst being fun it was also a steep learning curve & after a few years this lead to shooting for publications & later, working at music festivals doing live video & stills. I am extremely passionate about supporting local artists whenever I can to give them a platform to promote their efforts – whether it is a review, interview, music video or photographs. For me, it doesn’t matter if the band is playing in a pub or a stadium, I always bring my professional attitude, respect for others & a keen eye for capturing an unique shot. I’m a huge fan of electronic music & spend a lot of my time listening to podcasts & mixes – the more experimental the better.

Albert Lamontagne
My names Albert and I’ve been shooting music for just under a year and it has been some of the most productive and enjoyable time of my life. Before I began shooting at gigs I was taking photos and making videos casually for friends at the skate park and some bmx events at various skateparks around Melbourne. Since turning 18 and being able to attend far more shows than I would as a minor I began to fall in love with live music and watching the way that the band members work the crowd and manoeuvre around the stage was fascinating to me. I then fell in love with music photography by following bands on Instagram and Facebook and seeing such incredible photographers as Neal Walters and pees (photographer for the amity affliction). Since then I have shot for so many incredible people and musicians. Now that I’m a part of the amnplify team the future has never looked to so exciting and I can’t wait to see what comes of it!

Stuart Bucknell
I’m a Sydney based photographer who first started shooting music in 2011. Since that time, I’ve shot concerts and festivals in various parts of the country. I love being able to capture that special energy that you get from a live performance in front of an enthusiastic crowd – those moments where the fans get to share something with the bands they love. It’s all about the adrenaline and the passion for me; as long as the challenge of catching that perfect shot.
