On Saturday 1 September triple j will head to one lucky regional Australian town to throw the biggest party it’s ever seen. The massive FREE, all ages concert is a chance to experience live music in a remote area not on the usual touring map… And in 2018, with the help of Vance Joy, Peking Duk, Tkay Maidza, Middle Kids and Alex the Astronaut, we’re bringing you the biggest One Night Stand yet!
With every artist either at the peak of their career or experiencing an exciting break-out moment, we can’t wait to see what these acts have in store for us.

After being crowned number one in 2013’s Hottest 100 for his catchy single ‘Riptide’, Vance Joy has built a fierce international following. Currently touring the world with his new album ‘Nation of Two’, he’ll be in top form by the time he hits the One Night Stand.

Electronic Canberra duo Peking Duk entered the top 20 of last year’s Hottest 100 not once, but twice. Come September, they’ll be bringing you their sweet set of dance tunes – you bring the moves.

Adelaide rapper Tkay Maidza has been making waves ever since she stomped her way on to the scene with ‘Brontosaurus’. Tkay has collaborated with Killer Mike and played shows with the likes of Charli XCX; rest assured, she’ll bring the jam.

Middle Kids’ debut ‘Lost Friends’ was one of the most anticipated albums of 2018 and it didn’t disappoint. This year the three-piece are ripping it up all over the world, playing shows from Austin to Amsterdam and now they could be adding your town to the list.

Alex the Astronaut gave us one of the most empowering songs of 2017 in ‘Not Worth Hiding’. Her ability to connect with fans through songwriting is evident. Come and sing along to the magic, live at this year’s One Night Stand.

Over the past 15 years, we’ve taken the big live music experience to regional towns all over the country, most recently to the dusty outback mining town of Mount Isa QLD (2017) and before that the glistening coast of Geraldton WA (2016). In turn we’ve also brought those towns to you, got to know the locals, told their stories and put them on the map.
Now, we’re stoked to get to do it all again, so tune in to triple j Brekkie boys, Ben & Liam, on Thursday 7 June to find out which regional Australian town is going to be the star of this year’s triple j’s One Night Stand.
Then listen to triple j on Saturday 1 September as we broadcast the concert live on the radio, bringing you all the live sets, interviews and backstage goss. Plus we’ll be sharing videos, photos and music news throughout the day, so you can party with us in person, live on the radio, online or on social media.
