Announce Music Industry Coaches

Music Victoria is excited to announce the 10 music industry coaches who will be engaged in one-on one coaching sessions with the 20 successful participants in the Victorian Government backed 2018 Music Works, Live Music Professionals program – a free professional and business development program for independent promoters, venue owners, venue managers and band bookers.
The 2018 coaches are:
Ashlea O’Loughlin – Co-Founder Social Season (A Melbourne-based digital & social media marketing entity that specialises in publicity and advertising for touring and events.)
Ben Thompson – Venue Booker 170 Russel (One of Melbourne’s premier mid-sized venues. Ben also works as an independent consultant specialising in live music venues.)
Brian Taranto – Co-owner/Managing Director, Love Police ATM; Owner Love Police Touring; Promoter, Boogie, New Years Evie, Out On The Weekend (Co-owner and Managing Director of Australia’s biggest merch company, Love Police ATM, and owner of concert promoting/agency for Australia and New Zealand with Love Police Touring.)
Emily Kelly – Co-owner and Director of PR and Creative, Deathproof PR (Who work with the likes of Victoria Bitter, Boogie Festival, Brunswick Music Festival, RECLINK Community Cup, Reverence Hotel, Melbourne Bitter and the #1 ARIA Award Winners Parkway Drive.)
Moira Mckenzie – Senior Associate, Sanicki Lawyers (Moira practices in entertainment and intellectual property law. She represents artists, artist managers, indie record labels, publishers, producers, music festivals and other music professionals.)
Nigel Melder – Tour Promoter & Download Festival Booker, Live Nation (previously promoted for Destroy All Lines, which included a partnership with Chugg Entertainment; owned and operated record label, Trial and Error, and worked as a Tour Manager, among other roles, for 15 years in both Australia and overseas.)
Sally Mather – Music & Marketing Manager, Corner Hotel and Northcote Social Club (Formally the General Manager of Ticketscout, Sally oversees the booking, marketing, logistics and events for both venues.)
Sharlene Harris – National Entertainment Manager, ALH Group (Sharlene manages entertainment across more than 330 Venues nationally. On top of this, ALH Group has also built some successful outdoor events with their Hotter than Hell, Sea N Sound and Shakafest brands over the last 3 years.)
Shaun Adams – Venue Programmer, Karova Lounge (Shaun has programed several venues across Victoria and promoted his own shows and events across the state. He currently programs Karova in Ballarat while working on a variety of other projects.)
Tom Harris – Artist Manager, Business Manager and Managing Director, White Sky (White Sky is the largest music accounting services business in Australia; handling the finances for over 500 bands, record labels, festivals and various music businesses.)

Participants in the program will each complete three, one-hour coaching sessions with three of the different coaches listed above. The Live Music Professional participants will also get to attend the new Changes conference and be involved in numerous networking activities throughout the conference period. They’ll attend a closed-door Live Music Professionals conference in Ballarat and a number of masterclasses and workshops throughout the program period which will run July 3rd-October.
