Just last week Baauer, AJ Tracey & Jae Stephens premiered their new hit ‘3AM’ withBBC 1Xtra, and the song’s been rocketing through playlists since. Today, Baauer has shared a video for the track, which is out now on LuckyMe viaInertia Music.

This is Baauer’s first single since his acclaimed debut album Aa surprised critics in 2016, proving once and for all there was more toHarrison Rodrigues than his viral sensation ‘Harlem Shake’. A leading figure in the evolution of modern day trap music, Baauer’s main releases have continued to prove that his competence extends further into smart, electronic pop records as much as brash dance music. For the last 4 years, his song with Alunageorge and Rae Sremmurd – ‘One Touch‘ – has outstripped the plays of ‘Harlem Shake’. And with production work for JAY Z, A$AP Rocky, Future & Pusha T, he’s put cynicism to rest on his capabilities as a hip hop producer.

Raised in London until his early teens, Harry was inspired by UKG, early dubstep and grime before moving back to the US to study sound production and intern for NY dance label Trouble & Bass. It’s no accident, then, that in 2018 Harry has been working in sessions with the cream of new emerging artists like AJ Tracey, Skepta & Burna Boy.

On ‘3AM’ we see AJ Tracey and Jae Stephens take Baauer’s beat for a night ride: a moody, smokey rhythm with echoes of grime, afrobeat and classic r&b. In the official video directed by Peter Marsden (LuckyMe) we see our stars ride a 1960’s yellow cab through New York via the old Hollywood trick of rolling back drop projections and lighting: but the effect is of an intimate set for AJ to brag and Jae to come back on his bragging. In this hot, flirtatious video AJ is proving that his recent UK Chart success with Not3s is no accident: ‘3AM’ is another undeniable hit as UK-influenced urban music breaks through to wider audiences.
