Clare Bowen is as mesmerising onstage as she is on-screen and brings a very poignant, personal touch to her performance” – THE MUSIC

“The most magical thing about Clare is how she becomes the music – her body vibrates, she becomes swallowed up by the sound and the emotion – and it was transfixing to watch. After hearing her, you remember what it means to be alive.” – SCENESTR

Australian-born, US-based singer-songwriter-actress, Clare Bowen, announces today that she will return home to play a string of headline dates this September/October; just after releasing her much anticipated self-titled debut album. Bowen will take in some of the country’s premiere theatre venues, beginning at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Thursday 27th September, and continuing through Wollongong’s Town Hall on Saturday 29th September, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Tuesday 2nd October, Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Wednesday 3rd October, and concluding at Melbourne’s Athenaeum Theatre on Friday 5th October. The album will release on September 21st, just prior to the tour starting, and will be available for pre-order next Friday, August 10th.

Best known for her leading role as Scarlett O’Connor on the hit TV series NASHVILLE, Clare is a gifted performer, both on-screen and in a live arena setting. She returns to Australia for her third headline tour after just finishing filming the sixth and final season of NASHVILLE. Years before launching her career as an actor and singer-songwriter, a young Clare Bowen was growing up in rural Australia, miles from the nearest city, writing down everything she felt, heard, saw and dreamed.

“Music was my connection to the rest of the world, I was brought up on my parents’ vinyl collection – everything from Vivaldi, to Elvis, to Dolly, to Springsteen, Edith Piaf and Etta James.” – CLARE BOWEN

.

Along the way, she established herself as an in-demand actress on both sides of the Atlantic, earning critical praise in the highly controversial Australian film, The Combination, directed by David Field, and as the leading role of Wendla in the Sydney Theatre Company’s musical production of Spring Awakening. Fresh off the set of NASHVILLE after 6 years of filming, she is happy to take a moment to focus on music and to share her new album with all her fans in Australia.

Don’t miss out when Clare Bowen returns to Australia this September/October on her homecoming theatre tour.
