Spotify’s first live playlist event in the Southern Hemisphere – a free event celebrating the flagship Front Left playlist, Australia’s destination of choice for discovering the best left-of-centre new music.

Spotify recently announced the line-up for Front Left Live – a unique, live playlist event in Sydney on October 11, giving fans the chance to experience their favourite new music playlist in its purest form.

Front Left Live will feature some of Australia’s most promising emerging talent including Cosmo’s Midnight, Baker Boy x Dallas Woods, Hatchie, Kota Banks x CXLOE, alongside a special, international guest to be announced closer to the event.

The event will take Spotify’s Front Left playlist (formerly Indie Mixtape) to the live arena for the first time and will showcase why Front Left is already Australia’s go-to destination for local music creators and listeners looking to discover the greatest new artists producing innovative and genre-defying music.

Joining Front Left Live, is none other than dynamite twin duo, Cosmo’s Midnight who are at the helm of a new generation of young Australian producers, becoming renowned worldwide for fresh electronic music. The pair just wrapped a sold-out national tour in celebration of their debut album, What Comes Next, which features stand out singles “Get To Know”, “History” and “Talk To Me”, collectively hitting over 13 million Spotify streams.

Next up is the combined force of “The Fresh Prince of Arnhem Land”, Baker Boy alongside Noongar MC, Dallas Woods whose powerful chemistry and thought-provoking messages will ensure a live show that is electrifying and exceptionally unique. Baker Boy most recently won the Spotify presented Best New Talent award at the National Indigenous Music Awards and was recipient of a Spotify studio grant as part of the win.

Bringing a dose of dream pop to the Front Left Livestage, will be Brisbane’s Hatchie, where cascading synths, jangling guitars and white noise undulate beneath undeniable pop melodies. “Sure” and “Try” from her debut EP Sugar & Spice have racked up over 4 million streams on Spotify, solidifying Hatchie as an artist on the rise.

Rounding out the line-up is two of Australia’s hottest names in pop, Kota Banks x CXLOE. Kota Banks’ surprise mixtape PRIZE featured tracks “Fiorentina” and “Child”, seeing Kota swiftly grab the cover of Spotify’s “Pop Edge” playlist. Banks is joined by vocalist and recent cover of the Front Left playlist CXLOE, who is making waves with current single “Show You”.

Spotify has previously hosted live playlist events internationally, including Rap Caviar Live and Hot Country Live in the US, as well as Who We Be Live at Alexandra Palace in the UK. Front Left Live will be Spotify’s first playlist event in the Southern Hemisphere.

Mirroring the joy in discovering your new favourite song or artist, Front Left Live will bring these moments into a live realm, giving fans and listeners a chance to relive those feelings for one whole evening with artists on the cusp of great things, alongside a special international artist soon to be revealed.
