London based, ‘70s inspired Stoner Rock band YUNG DRUID have unleashed their debut video clip for the track ‘Take Me To Your Dealer’; the first single from the band’s forthcoming self-titled LP, due for release via boutique Stoner/Doom label Totem Cat Records in late 2018.
The retro inspired clip, shot on VHS by filmmaker Emily McDonald, is a psychedelic trip through space; cue alien transformations, flying babies, and a smattering of other ‘organic’ stimulus. The track showcases all of the hallmarks of Yung Druid’s sound — massive vocal hooks inspired by the likes of Sabbath and Zeppelin, catchy riffs, heavy grooves, meditative interludes and memorable guitar solos. Visually and sonically, the band once again demonstrate how they can pay homage to the hallmarks of the genre while not playing into its more dour tropes.
To celebrate the release of the video, Yung Druid will be headlining the September edition of the Doom residency show at The Bird’s Nest in Deptford, alongside fellow UK riff merchants Trevor’s Head, Morag Tong and Dead Lettuce, on September 7.
The release of ‘Take me To Your Dealer’ will whet the appetite of fans in the lead up to the band’s full LP release later this year. Followers of Sabbath, Zeppelin, Sleep, Pentagram and good old fashioned groove should take note.
