Friends and friends of friends! Tastemaker festival The Hills are Alive is back in 2019, blooming in the hills of beautiful South Gippsland, Victoria from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 March, for what is set to be their most epic edition yet!
Heading up the three-day festivities is Australian indie pop royalty, Vera Blue!
Vera comes armed with her latest album ‘Perennial’, an intensely personal record that traces the often circular pathways between love and loss, seamlessly synthesising her folk past with her bold pop future.
Since the release of her debut EP in 2016, Vera Blue has sold out four national tours and played to adoring crowds at festivals across the country. She’s consistently graced our airwaves, earning two placements on this year’s Hottest 100, while also featuring on Illy’s triple platinum ARIA accredited single ‘Papercuts’ and Slumberjack’s huge track ‘Fracture’. Vera Blue on the Hill is going to be magic!
More than just a festival, The Hills Are Alive began as an intimate celebration between musos and music lovers. A tastemaker event since its inception in 2009, The Hills Are Alive has earned a reputation for discovering new talent and fostering future Australian music legends, from Vance Joy, Courtney Barnett, Tash Sultana and Amy Shark.
Taking place on The Farmer’s family farm, the love that goes into The Hills Are Alive is tangible. There’s the Tiny Rave Cave, Bar at the Edge of the World, yoga, an old school bus serving scones and lemonade, karaoke, seriously competitive ping pong and HILLarious comedians.
And don’t forget, as the sun begins to set over those rolling hills, the whole festival pauses to gather atop the Hill and take in the impressive vista, side by side. Your Instagram won’t know what hit it!
Staying true to their roots, tickets for The Hills Are Alive’s 11th year throw-down will include camping, plus it’s BYO so pack ya tinnies!
The Hills are Alive has sold out for the past 10 years, so you better be ready to jump when Early Bird tickets go on sale 9am Thursday 27 September.
Stay tuned for the full lineup, dropping real soon!
