Today, The World Bar is thrilled to announce a jam-packed schedule for the month of November! Across the program, this month sees the Sydney leg of Alexander Lewis’ Australia & New Zealand 2018 Tour take over The Wall + Otto’s House Party presents a Newcastle punk takeover from Pals + a heaving party by Unknown Records label Party at Ricardo’s and much more!
In November, The Wall continues to prove its worth as a mid-week offering with a stacked bill featuring the buzziest local heavyweights. On October 7, Sydney DJ/Producer MÖBIUS controls the dancefloor, then on November 14, 18-year-old producer from the Central Coast / bubbling name in the Australian dance music scene, WILDLYF takes over The Wall. He is joined by Sanctuary – an all killer cast of the best new and upcoming local bass makers featuring Sydney’s newest heavy hitter Heimanu, Central Coasts golden child NYRVUS and the most righteous house shakers H&EM. Moving forward, the Sydney leg of Alexander Lewis’ Australian & New Zealand 2018 Tour takes over The Wall on November 21; then rounding out the month is Holly & WYN. See below for further details.
In November, Otto’s House Party brings some of Australia’s best live music to The World Bar. Throwing it back to the ground-breaking era of dance and indie music of the late 00’s, Otto’s House Party takes over multiple rooms of The World Bar every Friday night. Like the best house party you’ve ever stumbled into, Otto’s showcases the country’s hottest emerging artists with live music and DJ sets spanning indie, punk, disco, electro, hip-hop and house, plus lighting installations and live art.
The Otto’s House Party festivities kick off; on November 9, the relentless alternative electronic music project from Sydney’s Alec Mallia – Autosuggest bring their combination of blistering electronic rhythms with post-punk instrumentation and Mallia’s crooning vocals. Moving forward on Nov 16, Sydney based songwriter, producer and composer, Obseen AKA James Guido will entertain with his craft meaningful, soulful electronic music; on November 23 Blues Psych Rockers from Newcastle – Southern End headline and then the final headliner for the month is Gold Coast-based duo Arroyo on November 30. See below for further details.
In November, Sydney institution Ricardo’s brings together the diverse sounds of Sydney’s underground. Initially run out of the Portugal Madeira Club in Marrickville, then via Newtown, the infamous Ricardo’s now calls The World Bar home every Saturday night. Delving into the darker side of the dance floor, the late-night party continuously showcases choice selections across techno, deep house, disco and tech from the freshest producers and selectors from across Australia and around the globe.
On November 3, Ricardo’s provides a platform for not one, but two exciting new acts to launch their EP – First up is Melbourne’s techno producer/DJ HOROWITZ then Motorik!’s McLean & Mai. On November 10, the head tastemaker of Unknown Records, Pantheon curates a premier dancefloor that explores electronic music from the melodic tones in his recent studio output, to the heavier, more driving hints across the techno realm; then on November 17 Thomas Von Party + friends will no doubt create a thumping dance floor. Then closing Ricardo’s for the month of November is the Spaghetti Western crew. Expect everything from these warehouse ravers, including impromptu actors throwing their own rave in the venue. See below for further details.
Over the last 18 years, Kings Cross stalwart The World Bar has thrown some of Sydney’s most renowned club nights and live music events. The venue’s rich history includes infamous sets featuring Australia’s highly-regarded electronic artists from Ajax to Flume, Alison Wonderland and Nina Las Vegas, plus unforgettable live performances including DZ Deathrays, Gang of Youths and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, who helped pave the way for a seminal period in Sydney’s live music and nightlife timeline.

AMNPLIFY – DB
[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
