Singles Chartifacts: 

#1: Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper ‘Shallow’ – For the third consecutive week, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper sit at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Shallow’. Of the two other tracks from the soundtrack to A Star Is Born currently on the chart, ‘Always Remember Us This Way’ is at #13 and ‘I’ll Never Love Again’ holds #19 this week.

#2: Ariana Grande ‘Thank U, Next’ (Debut) – Ariana Grande takes out her fourth Top Ten entry for 2018 with ‘Thank U, Next’. The track is the first released from her forthcoming fifth studio album, reportedly also titled Thank U, Next. Grande has also hit the Top Ten this year with ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ (#1 Apr. ’18), ‘God Is A Woman’ (#5 Jul. ’18) and ‘Breathin’ (#8 Aug. ’18).

#4: Halsey ‘Without Me’ – In its fifth week in the Top 50, ‘Without Me’ by Halsey takes out another new peak, moving up one spot to hit #4.

#17: Rita Ora ‘Let You love Me’ – Announced as the first international guest for this year’s ARIA Awards, Rita Ora moves up two spots to #17 to grab a new peak with ‘Let You Love Me’.

#26: Queen ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ – As Queen take out three spots in the Top Ten on this week’s Albums Chart, the iconic British band’s most famous single returns to the Singles Chart. A #1 in Australia for two weeks in 1976, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ returned to the chart in early 1992 following the passing of Freddie Mercury, peaking at #5.

Albums Chartifacts:

#1: Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper ‘A Star Is Born’ – It’s week three at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for the soundtrack to A Star Is Born. As well as lead single ‘Shallow’ holding #1 for a third week, its two other current hits remain in the Top 20. 

#2: Queen ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ – The soundtrack to Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody sits at #2 for a second week. It has been joined in the Top 5 this week by the British band’s compilations Greatest Hits (#3) and The Platinum Collection (#5). Another collection, Greatest Hits II has re-entered the chart at #26.

#4: Matt Corby ‘Rainbow Valley’ (Debut) – Matt Corby returns with second album Rainbow Valley. The follow-up to Telluric (#1 Mar. ’16) sees the Sydney singer-songwriter playing every instrument on the album. It was co-produced by recent ARIA Award winner Dann Hume.

#7: Barbra Streisand ‘Walls’ (Debut) – The legendary Barbra Streisand releases her 36th studio album, Walls. The album sees Streisand performing originals, as well as tracks originally made famous by the likes of John Lennon, Louis Armstrong and Bacharach & David. The American artist topped the chart in recent years with Partners (#1 Sept. ’14) and Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway (#1 Sept. ’16).

#10: King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard ‘Eyes Like The Sky’ (Debut) – Melbourne’s King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard hold five spots in the Top 20 on the Albums Chart this week. It comes following vinyl reissues of their first four albums – Eyes Like The Sky(#10), Float Along – Fill Your Lungs (#12), Oddments (#13), 12 Bar Bruise (#14) – and early EP, Willoughby’s Beach (#15). All five releases are making their Top 50 debuts.
