‘One of our leading craftsmen of refined acoustic pop’ – The West Australian

‘Paul Dempsey retains his place as one of Australia’s best songwriters… immediately pleasing, but never predictable. It seems like Dempsey never takes the easy option when writing songs and it means that the songs have an extra kind of depth.’  – Double J

‘Dempsey is a gifted observer of the human condition’ – The Daily Telegraph

‘With Paul Dempsey, the tally for genius lyrics per second is positively baffling… one of Australia’s finest songwriters’ – Beat Magazine

Paul Dempsey does not stop. Having spent 2018 touring Europe, the UK, Iceland and South America with David Bowie’s band, completing sold out east and west coast regional Australian tours, contributing the lead single to the extraordinary Vast Project, performing at the Australian of the Year Awards, having a song in the Hottest 100 and writing for the upcoming new Something for Kate album, Paul also recently triumphantly sold out Melbourne’s grand Recital Centre in less than 24 hours. Add to that a 2nd sold out hometown show and if this isn’t enough, Paul is now very excited to announce his first solo acoustic show in Sydney since 2014.

Having released his second solo album ‘Strange Loop’ to outstanding reviews and a top 5 ARIA chart debut, this solo show will showcase Paul’s formidable talent as he takes to the stage on his own, offering fans intimate and stripped back interpretations of songs from ‘Strange Loop’ as well as his gold-selling debut ‘Everything Is True’, plus of course his knack for a well-chosen cover, something that Paul has a unique talent for. This show promises to be an up close and personal evening with one of Australia’s most respected and loved artists.
