With 2018 coming to an end, BEN LEECE continues to pick up critically acclaimed reviews & airplay for his debut album No Wonder The World Is Exhausted. The past few weeks has seen ABC Country jump on board to add the swingin’ Honky-Tonk album track ‘Sunny Side‘ to high rotation.
‘Sunny Side’ features Shane Nicholson, along with Katie Brianna (backing vox), Jason Walker (pedal steel), Luke Moller (fiddle) and Pete Drummond (drums). Of the song, Ben says: “I wrote Sunny Side feeling like it was time men should just shut up and listen to women. I feel like maybe I had been conditioned to perhaps hold male song-writers in a higher regard, but in recent years I find myself being more and more inspired by women. I’m continually in awe of writers like Judee Sill, Courtney Marie Andrews and Aimee Mann and Sunny Side is kind of a plea – I promise to shut up and listen if you show me the world from your perspective.” – BEN LEECE

While the video for previous single ‘Villains’ hit the Top 50 of the CMC chart, there was high praise for the album in Country Music bibles Capital News & Country Update Magazine, with the latter giving it Feature Album in the Nov/Dec issue. NWTWIE picked up Album of the Week in The Age/SMH newspapers as well as scoring 4 STARS in The Music (magazine).
